    Two videos.
The first shows what happens when your riding partner pulls over and says: I wonder where that fire trail goes?
Well, we found out didn't we, complete with a couple of attempts to drop it (one of which is flagged) and the sound of stones bouncing off the bash plate early on.

This second video shows the aftermath of a bushfire we had earlier this year. Not a lot of fun really, this country was all thick bush before the fire.

I'm not on here very often, but wondered if anyone can offer advice on a route from Morgan to Broken Hill that an old man on a fairly stock Versys X300 might be able to achieve.
I'm a reasonable rider but don't want to be holding it wide open I deep sand all day.
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom! :thumbup

Morgan - Canegrass - Loch Lilly Rd - Silver City Highway - Broken Hill ?
    Around 390 kms total.
Haven't done it for many years so can't advise on road conditions. Good country though.

No Sand, just hard pack clay from what I recall. Only a couple of creek crossings and rocks up around the hills when you get close to Yunta. All graded and a bit of an adventure. A "few" gates to leave as you find them too.
It's a good easy route when dry, stay out if wet, you wont be able to stand up on the road if it is, after Balah H.S.

    Thanks folks.
I hadn't planned on going to Yunta, though.
Preferably further East and come out at Cockburn.

Have a look at this map Tony T, for an overall idea.

    http://www.nanua.net/mudmap.html

Last time I was on Lochlilly Rd. thru to Yunta was 2019. No probs, some low sandhills north of Lochlilly Station. a 2 wd car would manage it.
Another way ( for the best scenery ) is from Morgan almost to Burra, Eastern Rd. to Caroona / Mongalata Rd, turn off..go north via back roads and gates to the railway line and follow it east to Yunta. Take the Hway to Cockburn or stay on the railway line if it's possible.

As DWR sez, Morgan, Canegrass, but go left on Pine Valley Rd. to Eastern Rd. to Sturtvale Rd. (great scenery from there to Yunta ).
Nothing to see but scrub on the Morgan Mail Rd - Canegrass, to Dangalli turn off to Eastern Rd, to Lochlilly, I reckon .

Morgan to Manna Hill to Cockburn
A good shortcut would be from Netley Gap to Benda Station. to Manna Hill. ( private land )

The loop runs next to the current railway line. Can be very sandy at the creek crossings but otherwise fast an very enjoyable. About 35Km.
