Just in case you missed it.

This thread is morphed from thread "Afternoon Rider", here in West, that was started by 8Superman.
His afternoon ride looked so simple and inspiring. His great photos prolly had a lot to do with it!
It started dialog between many Sacramento area riders.

    It just happened.

    All welcome!

Thanks to 8Superman for the inspiration!

APPEARS THE DISCUSSION IS MIGRATING TO THIS THREAD........

I'm missing three from the start, sorry. Plus two that caught us in Foresthill.

Let's meet at the Starbuck's in Folsom on the SE corner of Natomas and Blue Ravine Rd at 9 am.
GCDSR didn't get a ride this month. Maybe some will join us and they usually meet there.
    Depart at about 9:15.
Still working the route, and I will prolly pre ride it to determine big bike friendly-ness and to find any locked gates prior.
    I still want to ride,
Yankee Jim Rd (I've never seen it)
Iowa Hill Rd (I've never done it on a bike)
I'll look for fun, big bike friendly connections. Dirt if possible.
I have riden Gorman Rd between Mosquito ridge and Foresthill 2 up on the GSA and it was easy. Maybe we can include it.
    Suggestions please?

What bikes are we all riding?
    Looks like mostly thumpers.
And how much dirt are you planning I have street tread on the bike now wondering if I should switch to Knobbies.

I'll be on a 990 and I know Kyber has a 990 as well. So your Tiger will have plenty of company.

Don't worry about going. I'm a slowpoke, so the thumpers will probably be ahead of me. :D

Ok you can kill Afternoon rider.
But my vote is to keep it alive as a Sac. check in. As long as we all know where to look.

I've got a friend with a KTM 400 something maybe looking to do some riding. It's ok if he comes too right?

Cool thing about the big bikes I'm tired of beating up my bike trying to hang with the thumper crowd.
I'm finding out the Tiger is not the dirt bike I thought I could make it. Still it's an awsome street bike.

"Afternoon Rider" aint goin' anywhere. I love that site! :clap
It's a tribute to 8Superman! (Where the hell did he go anyway?)
I'm tired of beating up my thumper trying to hang with the thumper crowd.
I commute to Hayward on my 650 about twice a week and my job REQUIRES that I get there.
The more I ride with new people the more I realize, I'm the slow guy.
I say the more riders the better. If someone wants to ride bring um! I'm in it to meet you local guys and put a face with the name.

Unfortunately, I can't do the 1st. I'm working until 4 PM that day. Why again did I take that overtime shift???? Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!:baldy

Check my maiden voyage link from my G650 X Challenge for a great area to ride to/in. LINKY

Hmmm, I guess I'll bring the 650 and then the GS Adventure alternately for the future rides!!!

    :baldy:baldy:baldy Still tweaked I can't make the 1st. Sounds like a blast!!

I've subscribed to this thread so I'll keep checking for the next one.:ricky:wave:wings:thumb

    1. 100 round trips on the DR650 and it pays for it's self, when compared to driving my truck.
    2. I love the bike. No windscreen and I ride it like it's a supermotard when I commute.
    3. I just didn't buy the GSA to commute. Wasted miles. Cammy and I adventure on the GSA. (don't get me wrong. the commute can be an adventure! :eek1 :D, just no Cammy) She has her bikes, I have mine. The GSA is our 2 up bike.
    4. If I could only have "one" bike, based on my style of riding, cost of purchase, operation, insurance, and space it would prolly have to be the DR650.
Mine is VERY farkled to my riding preferences. Stage one, springs fore and aft, gears, chain, GPS, bags, tires, guards, bash plate, body plastics, canisterectomy, tank, etc, etc.

    There ya go

I'd like to go, but don't want to slow all the big, fast bikes down....:evil

I'll have to try real hard to make it, seems after yesterdays ride with my son, I have some work to do...
