    A group of Washington State GS riders are heading to Rockaway Beach next weekend. We'd like to include the Saddle Mtn. Rd. I heard on here once it was a good GS route. Can anyone advise on the best route from Astoria, to include the lower Nehalem rd. which I know.
    Thanks.

    yo Sir,
    take hwy 202 SE toward Jewell, turn rt 1/4 mile before Olney. (6-7 miles)
    stay on Saddle Mtn rd all the way to 26.
    cross 26 to the 53 road, or head east on 26 7 miles to Elsie then turn south toward Salmonberry on the Nehalem rd.
    Both roads come out of the trees at Nehalem Bay.
    when you comin thru?

    you need to make it into Olney just to say you've been there. you can always turn around. :thumb
    Just alittle biased;
    If you go through town past the store, church and school you can make a loop back past the Elk herds to Saddle Mtn road, I think?
