@Olderslowerguy I'd be coming from downtown so most likely it's via 275/19/McMullen booth road.

P.s. @seatec you're welcome to join as is anyone else looking for a mature but fun ride.

If you are coming up McMullin-Booth, we can meet at the Shell station just past Enterprise on the right side of M/B. How about 8:30?

Anyone else is welcome to come.

What a fun time it was on the ride today. Excellent weather, great roads, some spontaneous offroading, courtesy light warning from an unmarked cruiser during a moment of unguarded enthusiasm, and fine company.

Thank you to @Olderslowerguy for taking us through a lovely route at least 80% of which I'd never seen. Also to @seatec for the good humor and encouragement.

As proof that it actually happened ..

Bonus points if you an guess which of these 3 is not like the other two :)

P.S...it's true there is such a thing as top case envy especially when you're quite thirsty and are making the line to buy a beverage while your riding mates just calmly pull a drink from their top case.

Hello guys, I was directed over to this area of the forum from ride planning. I'm pretty new to motorcycles having ridden from time to time growing up, but I'm planning to do the CDR from New Mexico to Canada in June. I'm going to buy a used DRZ400s for the ride, but have never bought a motorcycle before. I'm slightly mechanically inclined from having spent a lot of time on boats, I'm not sure how well that's going to translate into bikes. I've watched lots of Youtube videos on what to look out for when buying used but because I'm planning such a long trip I want to make sure I'm getting a solid bike. Does anyone know a good shop to get the bike inspected near Lake Magdalene/University Mall area?

^^ DRZ's are pretty bulletproof bikes. :deal .

Just get one that is a bit more quiet than @ineptizoid 's bike. :lol3

Ya know, it's like Carl from Sling Blade said, it's a little loud.:lol2

Been a solid bike tho, can't complain. Sucker's been clanking away for 32K miles now, rode it Saturday, it still puts a smile on my face.:D

It's when it stops clanking that you've got a problem!

We're still here :) Are you still riding the AT?

Rode up to Brooksville 2 weeks ago and there were lots of riders in the usual spots.

I'm even shopping for a 2nd bike no less though test rides are impossible at the big 4. Hence, used looks like the way to go.
