HOME. WOW....I DO LOVE the 3.5 hour to and from from these local events.
Mike and Veronica....MUCH THANKS! Huggie and I both ended up needing some awaytime, and this event solved it! We didnt ride a lick...but we sure had a good time!

The pies....oh my....the PIES! SOO SOOO SOOOOO GOOD. YUMMY YUMMY. Thanks Holly! Ive got a b-day in March...and I ALWAYS have pie instead of cake so Ill be sure to take you up on that "Anytime" offer

And to the rest of you "Adventure Riders".......take the stickers off your bikes and your cars and shit......and move the hell on. We had a VERY nice group of people who take the time to put the event together....bake a SHIT LOAD of Great pies and cakes based on the number of people who were supposed to be attending...and you bitches back out because of a little rain. Sure...rain is crappy, and I dont like it.....but WTF! At least show up for a night. Stay in a hotel or something. I met a VERY NICE couple where the wife rode a VESPA scooter up. All the FUCK way up from MARINA. A SCOOTER. HELLOOOO!! AT least THEY came up and said hi.

But hey...we all had a great time, a small crowd = less complaints from the rangers about how loud we are.

Huggie & Stonewall checkn' out the park.

You're not made of sugar are you!?

Ready to go on thursday afternoon and skies look blue to me.

Veronica and Catherine and Jay arrive on friday and it still looks sunny.

It was still sunny enough for the HDs when we went to dinner on Friday nite.

Annette (Scootergirl) Mike, Cabesa, & JimC on friday nite. (Still dry)

    And there was PIE!

Yep there was some rain on Saturday.

But these were the only ones that stayed in camp.

By dinner time there was plenty of sun and the ground was dry.

Even with a little rain on Saturday spirits were still high that night. :clap

It was a great time at a wonderful spot. Thanks to all who showed up and for those that didn't because of the rain . . . . you missed some great pie and some great people.

Thanks to Big Al and Holly for the pies and the canopy. Thanks to JimC for the fire wood. Thanks to every one who stepped in and helped where they could. And thanks to all for making it a great event.

Big thanks to Mike54 and Veronica for doing the heavy lifting on this event. Great stuff!!:clap This was about as good as it gets, and I'm really sorry that a little rain kept some people home. Those of us that were there had a fantastic time; good food, good drink, and exceptional company make for a weekend that can't be spoiled by a bit of precipitation.
My only regret is that I never got to see Gillafunk maneuver into torpedo range.:lol3 Maybe next time...........

In case you're tempted to think all we did was sit around by the fire, drink beer, look at bikes and eat pie, here's a little ride some of us took on Saturday.

We didn't stop for many pictures, and we had one stretch of about 10 miles with pretty intense rain, but otherwise it was nice brisk riding weather.

We did stop at the Murphys Hotel for lunch.

Thanks to all that organised this event, the rain made it more of an adventure and the traction in the dirt was perfect on saturday even with rain falling as we were riding. I followed Gary around on his TDM as he knows the area well and did about 40 miles of great traction fire roads and jeep trails in huge canyons shrouded in mist and rain, beutiful! Also thanks to Holly and Al for feeding me as all I showed up with was some funny hats and tent and sleeping bag.(and good rain gear)Excellent food and company. Perfect ride home today with big black clouds and no rain.:clap:clap

I was fortunate to hit some local trails on friday and saturday. Very nice single track, no people and no dust.

On saturday rain was steady at higher elevations. It made some sections very slippery. Again no riders on the trails made riding great.

Some sections were heavily overgrown, gnurly and tight. We had to duck and were too busy to take pictures.
