Bob (Windrat) and I headed out early with 400+ to get home. We slabed a bunch of I5 and then peeled off onto Hwy 33. When the highway crosses Hwy 41 the pavement ends for seven miles for a construction project. Fun we thought, a little dirt!

Twenty miles or so later we stopped at the juntion with Hwy 46 to discover Bobs top box rack had failed and the box had been hanging down right onto the end of the exhaust.

Yes, that is a thermarest pad in there. So is the white oozzie stuff

    Me "that sure melted, Bob"

    Bob "this looks expensive"

    :lol3

A few ties and a strap and we were back on the road.

R.C. Great pics If this wasn't some Maidue religious site...it would have made a great camp site...and ...dry too.

Thanks to all: Mike 54 and Not Betty. Great job. And to stop all rumors...I did ride my bike. I went out with foot dragger and itsatdm and stonewall. But bailed after 10 miles. Went to camp decided i needed ice and some how did anout 50 miles just singing in the rain. Great people great fun... It was just what you would expect from this croud....ShyDick here I came:D

Well, it certainly looks as though y'all had a great time.

Hopefully, see you all at camp Scheideck in a couple of months time.

    Mike & Veronica,
A huge thanks for pulling this adventure together. :clap Holly, the pies were the best, I even had some for breakfast, thanks! On Saturday, James and I had a fun ride down Salt Springs road and back out to Winton road, the dirt was in great shape. I've included our route below:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=148365731179922445,38.461788,-120.200214%3B5544709129877389300,38.461385,-120.199871&saddr=volcano,+ca&daddr=Salt+Springs+Rd,+Pioneer,+Amador,+California+95666,+United+States+to:38.459772,-120.200386+to:NF-7N09+%4038.461970,+-120.199600+to:NF-7N09+%4038.461290,+-120.199740+to:Winton+road+to:Volcano&mrcr=1,2&mrsp=2&sz=13&mra=dme&sll=38.465552,-120.198669&sspn=0.07836,0.10128&ie=UTF8&z=13&om=1

It was fun hearing all the stories by the fire also.

I have to say that the little 2fiddy did a pretty good job even if I had to peddle up a few of the longer hills:ricky . Sorry I missed the festivities Saturday night but thought I'd save a few points with the SO for the next get together.
Look forward to doing it again.

The reason you could not catch us, is because we were behind you. We made a couple of more attempts at finding tiger creek road the hard way.

Hey Mike54 and Veronica, uh I mean, I'm not Betty...Thanks SO much for a great trip. Catherine and I had a great time. Even though I brought the K bike this trip, it was awesome. It's actually the first time I heard Catherine talk so much at the Friday night campfire. Thanks again..well done!!:1drink
