Looks like a good run for Christmas day, after I see what Santa brings. May even make it an overniter so that I can look around a litte more. [IMG]

Anybody up for camping at butterfield or maybe blair valley and exploring the surrounding area.

Ocotillo is so crowded....and I would like to get a small group together for maybe 12/30 through 1/1

Plated bikes only...I am thinking mostly dirt trails in this area...Pinyon mountain road and the carrizo badlands area.

This would be my first time riding this area so anyone who knows this area would be a great help.

    Anybody up for this.....:ear

in fact I'll be out camping at Agua Caliente Regional Park with friends next weekend and planning to ride off pavement somewhere.

one out of town "not very ambitious rider on a wee strom" guest I'll take through the Blair Valley loop.

I've managed slightly greater challenges before, rode a couple times with Bagstr and Captcham from SDAR but I'd like to know more of the off-pavement options.

Hey Guys, been lurking around here for a while and thought I would chime in. I'm interested in meeting cool people (even though I might not be so cool) to ride some dirt with, prefer bigger bikes (I'm 990 Adventure). I don't have too much experience in the dirt so you will have to try and not kill me, but I'm not a wuss either.

Feels like I just posted an ad for a date...:lol3

Had the day after christmas off. Put my road wheels on my 990. Took my daughter for a little half day ride. Grape vine canyon for a little two up family fun. Canyon was in great shape. Daughter had fun. No pizza in Julian!

I might have seen you. I was on a white tiger 800 and my buddy was on a black vstrom. I saw a KTM 990 with two up. We also did Grape Vine from the bottom up.

Im looking at a weekend in Feb. If your interested please give your feedback on what would be the best weekend for you and if you prefer to camp dispersed in Blair Valley or at Butterfield Ranch. This won't be a fast pass ride we'll wait at junctions for stragglers. Of course youll need camping gear and camp food. Orifamme Canyon can be difficult but you can always skip that section and meet up in Julian.

I may be interested in this...it looks right up my alley and I need someone to wait for me...I'm one of those stragglers. I'm on a KTM625SC. What range do you think is needed for gas? I'm in the process of getting a bigger tank that should give me about 150 miles, maybe 180.
Doing my first camping overnight ride up at carizzo/Pozo in January with H8chains.

True but thats an enduro ride this ride is a mixture of the best paved twisties and dirt for bigger ADV bikes. The desert dash is primarily smaller enduros. I got you though we should pick a diierent weekend.
