Oh, the husky I think. If there are any technical tracks it gets to be too much for the road bike. It sure eats the miles though. :evil

Yeah Oriflamme Canyon would be to much for the versys. I'm all the way out here in Pine Valley so your actually closer to the start than me i think.

Road route from Hwy76 & 15 staging to Julian is 50 miles. But it sounds like it's an offroad route/loop.
So I'm trying to figure out if I need aux fuel or not... 120 miles without, 180 with. :dunno

EDIT: XCountry - Pine Valley...way out the 8? Wow, I just looked it up on google maps. I'm surprised you're not starting in Poway or something.
BTW, where does the trip end? I'm thinking of what I have for the return home to OC on Sunday. Thanks!

EDIT2: nevermind, I see the map now and final is Chula Vista or thereabouts. I'll probably cut west no further south than the 8 on Sunday. Seems like nice country, have never ridden out there, only driven once and it was beautiful and remote.

    Yeah, I was thinking that when I saw the 640, I thought Joel had a 950 and a HP2.

BTW Joel, what tire are you running on the back, and do you like it? I'm burning thru knobbies like butter and they're not so great on the slab sections.

Nate Harrsion Grade is a gem on this route. It climbs up from the orange groves on 76 at 1000 ft to cedars on Palomar at 5300 ft. The views are awesome the problem is that it ends to fast!! You want it to just keep going.I wish it was longer than 9 Miles :( I'm sure most of you guys have ridden it but for the ones that haven't your in for a treat.

We still need to see if Cedar Creek RD is gated or not right now and maybe recon adding Jasper Truck Trail to extend the Grape Vine Canyon segment. SO i'm on for a Saturday recon Ride.
