Cool. I want to do the slot. Have driven down a few times and even saw a KLR650 go down it with no problems. I'm just a beginner rider so it should be fun to watch. :huh

I think I can do that. If not, I would meet you at the campsite Saturday evening.

Assuming we are going to meet at Tamarisk campground, I sketched out a route from there. It goes by a lot of the local attractions: the slot, blowsand, the palm groves, the pumpkin patch, and then goes thru the badlands back to Borrego Springs. Maybe stop to eat in town and then take Culp Valley and Grapevine Canyon back to the campground.
That should keep us busy for most of the day.

Who is in for meeting up Saturday morning?

Is there going to be a Sunday scouting expedition in the Julian area that we could meet up with?

:D Ok...first off just want to thank SDLand for his helpful hints and
watchful eye...and of course the rest of the guys (dustjunkie, River Rat
for putting up with my slowness. As a noob to the black arts of offroading
it came in handy. Trey, Tom, Gregg and the rest of the guys would be proud to know that this was my first ride with out a wipeout
    (sorry to disappoint guys)..

I was tired and opted (ok Wussed Out) of the rest of the ride cuz I thought
I had already ridden thing valley..after looking at the pictures I know I haven't (it must of been some other trail)...and missed out on a good time.
Sorry I didn't get a chance to ride with Jeremy, but there's always next time.
Looks like the San Diego guys are getting organized and I see some good
rides and times in the future..

    Thanks All

    What's next ?
    Bubba

P.S if I reply to my own post does that make mean
    I have a multi-personality disorder ?

Off in the Salton Sea thread, I started talking to cheff about a ride up through Joshua Tree. Here is the loop we came up with:

From our usual Ramona starting point it would be about a 300 mile ride.
I was thinking of going on April 9.
Would any of you like to go along?
Any other suggestions for the route or the date?

    -Michael

100-150 miles of it are dirt. There will be options to have more or less dirt since there are paved roads that take a similar route.
