This ride is fire roads and some desert washes. We've got bikes from DR400's to big GS's signed up for this ride, so bring whatever you like.

quite your whining, there is very little terrain that any bike can get through that is not do-able on your GS... and the pig is much better on the black top...

Yeah, Warner Springs has only a few buildings along the highway.
The little store/gas station is hard to miss.

You ain't seen nuthin' yet. Just wait till I'm 100 miles deep into the slab on my 525!

    (sickboy's Top Ten replies)

    10) Well, sure...but Heather Lewis told me she'd "kick my ass from Primm to Dakar" if I rode bitch with Jimmy one more time.

    9) Save it for my Orthopedic Surgeon.

    8) :poser

    7) Yeah, but I paid for more than just 1st gear.

    6) So, how's that new gig? GS Parts Sales, right?

    5) Dude.

    4) Show me this "little" terrain that you speak of. I bet my GS can do it!

    3) I know...but since I separated my shoulder riding the GS offroad, it's just easier to pick up the real dirt-bike now.

    2) So you're the guy that races Class 11...

    1) You talkin' ta me??

    You said it, brother!

Who in the San Diego group is meeting up with Striking Viking? I'm going to meet up on Sunday. If anyone needs a room for the Saturday event contact Ricardo and let him know that I said my room is open.

OK SD riders let's get this going again. Who's up for a ride? Sunday maybe? The desert is warming up so we may not have many more weekends for that area.

    Ideas?

    Takers?

The desert is getting up to the 90's, but I'd still be willing to go.

A ride I'd like to try would be starting out in Fallbrook like that ride we did from Surfphoto's house, but continue on to the roads North of Ortega Highway.
Does someone know the good routes up there who would be willing to lead?

Well, if you mean the roads that head north from Ortega along the ridge of Saddle back, I havn't been on any of them in at least an hour and a half, but I think I can remember my way around... When are you talking about? If I can't go, I could email you a track that woudl be easy to follow...

If we come up the dirt road to the Wildomar OHV area, is there a good route on the North side of Ortega that will bring us back to Wildomar or down to Lake Elsinore?

You can take south main devide up from Ortega, and then take Indian truck trail, down to the 15, cross the 15, and take some dirt trails down to Elsinore east of the 15...

The other option woudl be to follow the ridge all the way up to Corona, head South East out of Corona, to Cajalco, then east till you can get on dirt that will take you south west to Elsinore... A bit longer, but more varried terrain...

Anyone off work during the week ?? I'm inviting you to come up to Vegas and I can take you on a day or two of bitchin' riding around here. I've explored a bunch of trails in the area, and can make a good 6 to 8 hour all day ride after work (I've been getting off work between 10:00am and noon).

    Let me know

Short notice, I know, but three of us are heading down to Gonzaga Bay (between San Felipe and Los Angeles Bay) tomorrow from Rancho Santa Fe in SD if any one wants to come with. I have TKCs but the other two guys have Battlewings. Should be an easy ride mostly crappy paved roads...last 70km dirt. We're camping on the beach, but my hommie has a house down there w fresh water. Coming back tuesday!
