AFTERNOON ADVENTURE RIDE - BRISBANE TO MT MEE - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL BRISBANE DAYBORO, MT MEE NOON TO 5PM SATURDAY 21ST DEC2014 NOTE: CHANGE IN START TIME Meet 11.45AM for NOON(12pm) start at Dayboro bakery here. Before coming on any Snail Trail ride ride you must read and agree to the disclaimer here. These are informal social rides with no central organiser or any person taking responsibility for others, and you come on these rides at your risk. You'll need a backup plan for any breakdowns, make sure someone can collect you and/or your bike if needed and bring at least a basic toolkit. Please read about our corner-making system and general guidelines for the ride here, and a general guide to safety gear here. Short notice but anyone up for a lap of Mt Mee? Bit of rain predicted for the morning so thought I'd make it an afternoon ride. Please note it's definitely an intermediate level ride, We'll be doing A break and some of the rougher steeper tracks around the western escarpment at a reasonable pace, so I'd say experienced riders if on a mid-sized bike (e.g. DR650) and very experienced if on anything bigger. This will be weather-dependent so check this thread an hour or two before heading off.
Mt Mee is in horrible conditions B1! Myself and 0405Canvet where there last Fri for a Twilight ride, and I have to say if any wants to challenge themselves at an intermediate ride, do it. Possibly the best riding conditions I've seen in a long time @ Mt Mee Oh and I can't go Lizard
I know where you live The only reason I can't go is I'm just waiting on my replacement battery. Motocell decided that mine was well and truly kaput, suffered some sort of electronics failure internally. At least I get a Spanky new one, but alas, it will be monday Next time i might have a new tyre too, just so I can throw more roost your, sorry, gain more traction And like I said, Mt Mee is in Primo condition ATM. Jacky creek and A Break are sensational Lizard
Thanks for the offer Will, at this stage I'll take the other Toy out and go skiing. I could be prone to changing my mind with Gordon talking down to the best bikes ever built
no worries i did have a spare battery but cut the top off to try and may a storage box with all the extra space with a lithium made nice sparkler impressions as the hack saw went thru
Im in . Might go up a bit earlier in the day for a quick blat then meet you at the bakery for another go. John.
Dont finish work till 3pm, can be at the gantry at 3.45pm if you guys are near there would love to catchup????? WR is begging for some lovin Pritch style.
If I get all my gardening a crap finished I may try to get up there for a blast. Did 260km loop through that area last week, was best I have seen it in a long while.
1PM TO 5PM SATURDAY 21ST DEC2013 Sorry Marty, I sold my delorean. Unfortunately Im working again for this one. Im sure Ill get on one soon.
changed the start time as an earlier start suits the guys coming. meet 11.45am bakery for a noon start. DEFINITES FOR THE STARTING GRID 0405canvet roo6135 B1 hey brian, if you are a definite for 3.45pm we can try to be at the gantry around then... with three riders we can always send someone to grab you even if we've hit a mechanical issue or similar. the pritch lovin might have to be a slow gentle lovin with the DR650 on tyres that are just about due for replacement!
hey terry, more or less something similar. if you did hit reserve i think you'd just about manage to get back to dayboro from most parts of mt mee anyway. DEFINITES FOR THE STARTING GRID 0405canvet roo6135 B1 Terryc
no worries brian, will try to be there around that time... DEFINITES FOR THE STARTING GRID 0405canvet roo6135 B1 Terryc pritch 3.45pm at the gantry. off line now, see you all there....
fun ride yesterday, after about 3 hours at a good clip we had worn ourselves out and headed back. terry has definitely bonded with his WR and looking like he's been riding dirt for years... i think it's time to revoke his noob status. scottl claims not to have ridden his TE for months but couldn't shake him yesterday even though he was blinded by the dust storm. i think mt mee needs some good soaking rain. even though it rained a few days back there were sections of bull dust, nothing like the permanently loamy conditions i remember a decade ago.
