Took the tank off my 2004 1150 GSA to replace the crash bars. Finished and replaced the tank, reattached quick connects, electrical plug in, and cannister hoses. Started it up and it runs like crap...kinda like running on one cylinder. Ran great before the tank removal. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Common problem, check the throttle cable where it seats at the throttle body. Prob pulled up and not seated.

According to his profile, the OP's been a member here since 2009.

How could he not know this? :huh

I would love to see the Photobucket stats on JVB's photo above. That photo alone must get thousands of hits per week--it's posted into so many threads. :lol3

Yep. Once you're in the club, it's kind of a race to help the next guy out. Looks like it took six minutes this time. Not bad, but not our best by any stretch.

Maybe he only reads the threads he needs to find SOLUTIONS to problems AFTER he has them.

The brainy set of inmates here I'm told read MANY of the threads so they know what TO DO...if they ever encounter them!:clap

Particularly when ridin'...not in the garage. Sure beats pushin'/towin'.

You helped another guy here. I just finished a complete tear down to get to the input shaft seal on my 2005 GS 1200 transmission with 20,000 miles. I noticed the clutch slipping on hard pulls . I have never had an issue with the engine. I tore off the rear end --with all the wires loose, etc and when I got it reassembled, it would not run worth a crap. Thanks to this post, I checked the right throttle cable and found it not inserted into the throttle box. I pushed it in and put the tank back on and it runs much better. I still have a severe problem and check engine light displayed. But my transmission and all works. I ordered a 911 diagnose tool today off Amazon. It is due here in 5 days. I will report more after I see what else I messed up on the reassembly.
