Helix, that's cool. I'm actively searching for a low mileage one to use as a commuter when my Daelim gives up the ghost.

I have a NICE 01 with 5300 miles in Central Kansas. Helix is the best. I have a 94 also I bought new with 69000 miles currently.

69000! There lies why I think a Helix would make a great commuter. I had an Elite 250 prior to my Daelim and fell in love with that engine. It was the most reliable 2 wheeled vehicle I've ever owned.

the helix will get in your blood. It's an addictive ride. it's the most comfortable ride I've ridden to date. I bought mine as a basketcase and have overhauled it, I have a thread here about it, I'm in need of updating it with the latest jobs. Even though I love it, I'm thinking of selling just to clear space in the garage, not sure it meets your needs, mine is an 86 with 43k miles on the clock.

Thanks for the thought but as my wrenching skills leave something to be desired I'm probably best going with one with lower miles.

Back to the topic at hand, would an early fall campout at Willville be of interest to anyone, say early October?

count me in, Sept would probably be better for me, the charlotte crew usually goes to vintage days in Oct. Sept may be warmer for camping.

1st Annual Texas United Scooter Rally http://www.texasunitedscooterrally.com/ is being held in the Hill Country June 8-11 at Lady Bird Johnson Park. You can either camp at the park (make reservations) or stay in one of the many nearby hotels. If you've never been to the hill country to ride it is some of the best riding in the state with the Twisted Sisters reminding me of Colorado without the high elevation but plenty of up/down round and round. Separate ride routes for 50s and bigger. Last time I went to a rally out in that area they often had 3 rides leaving at about the same time. One 50cc "safe" another with staying on roads with no more than 50mph and a route for faster riders since some of the FM roads (best kind to ride in Texas) are posted 65-70.

    Tiddlers to the Top! :-)

There is a +/-126 mile fun ride (perhaps a challenge ride for 50cc scooters) scheduled for Saturday morning during the Rich Mountain Rendezvous, September 15-17, 2017 at Queen Wilhelmina State Park in Arkansas near the Oklahoma border. I don't have a scooter (yet), but do plan to attend with my TW200; that is, unless I find something smaller to ride before then.

Information & Registration for the Rendezvous: https://rmr4casa.com/
And an ongoing discussion is here: http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114377

Brad B.'s Honda Urban Express didn't survive the East Texas Tiddler Endurance Run - he hopes to have it back up & running in time for the Tiddler to the Top:

Anyone planning to go to any of the Chicago area ralliesbthis year?

    - Slaughterhouse 23 in Chicago
    - Viva la Lake Geneva in Lake Geneva, WI
    - Scootoberfest in Lake Geneva

I'm going to at least one of them. It'd be nice to meet some of you all.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you have a scooter? I only see a motorcycle in your sig... I don't think you would be asked to leave or anything, but folks might be like: "What the hell is HE doing here?"

I've had them both and ridden in groups with both. Scooterists tend not to take themselves as seriously; more laid-back.
