Its been 2 years since I sold my Zuma 125. I have missed it a lot in that time.

So today, I traded my 2011 Versys with 11,500 miles on it for a 2012 Burgman 400 with 375 miles on it.

The deal took place in Asheville, NC about 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I figured there was no better place to take my last ride on one motorcycle and my first ride on another.

1st ride on the Burgman. No better place than the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Well done! Maybe when there is an Upstate Dinner we can meet and the Burg and Morph can sniff each other.:lol3

Beautiful Scooter! Looks like spring is late coming to the parkway. We're green and the shrubs are blooming here in Atlanta, but of course that's by law; it's Masters week:rofl

Did you do a swap deal for your Versys?

Definitely cooler on the Parkway than in Greenville. Not many signs of spring yet.

Yep, it was an even trade.

You will love it. I saw where another owner spiced up the ugly black wheels by adding red stripes he got on Ebay.

It is amazing that I was going faster on the Parkway with the Burgman on my 1st ride than I was on the Versys that I had been ridding for 2.5 years.:lol3

The speed limit on the Parkway is 45. That felt like a nice comfortable pace on the Versys.

I rode the same stretch again on the Burgman an hour later and I was comfortable at about 55.:lol3

I just never "connected" with the Versys. On paper it was the perfect bike for me but in reality I just never fell in love with it. Don't get me wrong, it is a wonderful bike that I would recommend to anyone it just wasn't the right bike for me.

Part of the problem was vibration. My left hand would start hurting after just a couple of minutes.

The automatic transmission was also a big draw for me. The Zuma 125 taught me that shifting is not an integral part of riding too me.
