New milestones, I took the bus into town to the Cider and Sours brunch. Decided I'm not quite strong enough to take the scoot yet. Later next week I get to go back in the pool middle of next week so I'm hoping the week after I will be taking the Vespa to PT.

Today I got back in the pool for the first time followed by PT. Winds are finally dying down a bit and forecast to go away completely in a few days. They have done number on the trees so we are past peak leaf peeping now. My new goal is to ride the Vespa to PT in another week or two.

I asked my PT today if there was anything I shouldn't be doing at this point. His reply was running or jumping. So I specifically asked about getting back on the Vespa. He said end of next week should be doable. So guess what is in Thursday forecast?

    The white preferably fluffy stuff.

While I don't normally have an issue riding in light snow I don't think it should be my first ride so it maybe a few days later that I hoped. My PT did suggest that the first ride should be short as in to my PT appointment. ;)

Sorry to hear about that forecast. Better to be safe about that first ride than to take on Mother Nature's evil white crap. I like the way your PT guy thinks! (I know they like to see a patient actively participating in their recuperation.)

If the white stuff sticks I won't be riding next Friday. It is supposed to be sunny and upper 40s on Friday and 50s on Saturday so may wait wait til then.

That sounds like a great plan. Gotta take care of the new parts!

Well before Steve left to go to Lowe's for parts to fix a leaky faucet I got him to go with me to the garage to act as safety while I tried taking the Vespa off and putting it back on its center stand. Turned out to be much easier than I had expected. I considered going for a ride but since it is only 41f I'm going to wait until it is a little warmer since the forecast for Weds is 62f.

Whoohooo! I rolled mine out, put it on the center stand, then rolled it off. That gave me the confidence I was ready to take it for a ride. For full disclosure, it was in the 80s (temperature, not the years). When the weather allows, you will know you are ready. That is a great first step!

Knowing you as we do, we are really not surprised that you are recovering this fast! Keep it up!

Yeah well I made the mistake of telling my PT had much easier it was too take the Vespa off and put it back on the center stand yesterday than I expected. So today he upped my workout adding leg presses etc. aadding totally wiped but tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 60s so I'm thinking post office or coffee run in the afternoon.

After a bit of time with my legs up and the massager I was feeling much better and even managed some laundry which is downstairs as well as making baked penne with meat sauce and cheese. Course half a bottle of cab plus home made limoncello for desert didn’t hurt. Assuming mid 60s forecast is accurate I plan on taking my first scooter ride post surgery. Since they are predicting between 8 & 12 inches of the white stuff on Thursday I need to get it in while I can.

Fortunately I come from a family with good healing genes and I’m pretty good about doing the necessary rehab work.

Your doing better than I am, I still have some swelling and as of yesterday my ROM is 2-115 degrees. I was stuck at 5-105 for what seemed like forever. I hope you get that ride in before the snow.

2-115 is pretty good for 4 weeks and your knees were worse than mine pre surgery. FWIW I have been using Arnica gel which helps wit swelling and bruising.
