FYI Had bike on a short hydraulic lift jack WITH THE SIDE STAND DEPLOYED. Made a chain and suspension adjustment. Started bike put in gear and it died. Turns out there is a small black piece on the inner part of the side stand (assuming magnetic) that connects the circuit of the side stand switch-to another black piece on the frame. The piece on the side stand got moved when I lifted the bike on the jack with the side stand deployed. Had to reposition the piece on the side stand to ensure it contacted the other half of the switch to allow the bike to run in gear. Thankfully it only took a few minutes to realize this. ...carry on.
