So I guess all this ADV-F business got the Harley guys jealous. How long before you replace that silly 950SE with a bigger, badder V twin @Joe Motocross ? In all reality, after seeing this abomination, I might have to start cutting the Beluga guys a little slack for not being quite this ridiculous.
^^^ Ha! I love it, and that's a great pic! Would be awesome if this bike helps HD retain their customer base. Bear in mind the bike above qualifies as ADV-F. No luggage, no chair and there's probably a flask of rot-gut whiskey inside that jacket vest pocket. He can sit at my campfire anytime if he can get there!
Here's a classic ADV-F movie to watch while you're waiting for spring Click on the "Watch on YouTube"
You guys are messed up. No luggage or chair on a 600 pound pig misses the advf mark.
Must be a poser...no true hog rider would be in a full face.
Isn't 600lbs being generous?
You lost me at True biker etiquette and sealed it with Mercedes. I’m on my third Benz and love the brand. Ive found that most of the pricks out there are the ones that look at the emblem on a car or bike and make crass assumptions about the owner. But I’ll give you points for the honesty in your first 3 words of your post.
WTF are you posting this shit on a ride report that has nothing to do with Harley or their pigly abomination?
Sorry. Didn’t realize discussion was frowned upon. I’ll delete just so no more panties get twisted. It was a response to another response and the the initial was simply poking fun of how far off of ADV-F most ADV really is. I thought the fundamental idea in this ride report was ADV-F after all.
Spring is rapidly approaching and I look forward to Joe, Hotstuff and other High Council members hitting the desert, sipping Crow, sleeping under the sky and cooking over fire as God intended.
One can hope. But it might be a month or two. The last few weeks have seen crazy amounts of snow in Utah with insane avalanche threat. Four people died a few weeks ago and the main road to the ski areas of Alta and Snowbird was closed for almost three days! Personally I can't wait to get out on a real ride.
I am very late in my reply here. However, this area is among my favorite places on earth. Camping here as a youngster coming from the north on a houseboat about a dozen times. Then as an adult sneaking in from the west on land. In fact, my profile picture is on the road not too far after that pass you mention on one of my first trips off road. <facepalm>
