Many thanks to Reidy for putting this event together in honor of Don. It was an epic day to ride. Hero dirt and no dust all day! :clap 4Play put together an awesome route for us. I missed the breakfast due to my inability to quickly repair a flat without pinching a tube, but understand it was outstanding as well. Thanks BigE!

Speaking of blown.....Mind still blown that Allen was riding that barge with the wife, in the terrain we were riding.

Mr and Mrs Yardstick 2up. They cruised through some tough terrain on the 990 and made us on the little bikes feel downright inferior :D

Chicago Triple, and yes he saved it. He and all the guys on big bikes were very talented riders.

:lol3 We had a lot of fun! That's about the right level of difficulty for us riding 2-up. Just enough challenge, very enjoyable, and not scary (and no deep water!). You should have stayed with us after the bailout. There were some interesting sections in there. Quite a bit less sand, too. :deal

This hill was part of Buddy's bonus loop and should have caused a few problems, but everyone cruised up it , no problem.
JTWest on the KLR. He rode that thing like a 250

Great shots!!! I wish I could gone fast enough to get ahead and get some action shots like these!!!! I think that was the one where I was looking for the "tough" part of the trail.

I'd get back out soon with you guys to do that second loop. I had too much crap on the calendar to do this weekend, and my wrist and shoulder were suggesting it was probably a good time to call it quits anyway.

JT was riding faster than the top box could go.

Milk crates seem to be much more durable, I see them on a lot of KLR's :evil

Anybody who "rode the river" wash their bike this morning and feel like they were trying to rid their bike of 10 lbs of concrete?

    HAHA!!...story well told!!!

I just retrieved the box. Unfortunately no sign of the tool kit I lost about the same time. Did anyone see or pick up a KLR stock tool kit sometime before the first gate (second picture)? It looks like a black box about 2x2x5". not a big deal if its gone but if you happened to pick one up in desperate hopes to find a worried owner let me know.

I just got rid of most of that concrete by riding in sand

Isn't there usually a little dog in the back and a twister about to hit as well?
