Don't you hate doing searches for bikes that go by multiple names?

For the V-Strom it seems there are at least 4 and possibly more I'm not thinking of? And if I search for any one of them I may be missing the others, sheesh...

    DL650, Wee, V-Strom, Vstrom

Yamaha are definitely leading the field in confusing nomenclature for their models. It´s not just MT/Tracer/FJ which is bad enough, Yamaha use FZ/FJ/MT/Tracer depending on model, spec and where it´s being sold.

Most search engines feature some sort of advanced option. If you navigate to an 'advanced' page, what it's really doing is letting you build a statement using their nomenclature. The pattern is typically the same, or similar across all search engines.

If the term is wee strom, it'll search for either wee AND strom. Put the word OR between them to get either. If you want to search for exactly those two words with a space, wrap it in double quotes. "wee strom".

You can also subtract search terms with a minus sign. So sometimes instead of trying to get a collection of search terms, it's easier to get a broad set and then eliminate what you don't want. E.g. You're searching for a KTM 990, but you don't want the Supermoto variant. So KTM 990 -supermoto

DL650 is what you should search for. Assuming you are searching to buy, if the owner doesn't know enough to put the manufacturer's official designation for the bike in the ad, he probably doesn't know enough to RTFM and/or keep up with proper maintenance either, so think of your 'problem' as a handy, free idiot filter.

When a bike has many common variants such as the V-Strom, I will often just type in Suzuki. This works well for CL and takes very little search time-even in the large markets.

G**dam* f***ing piece of useless sh**! Garbage scow sh**box junk. Many other terms were also used to describe my 1979 HD Sportster back in the day when it refused to start, or almost broke my leg, leaked oil on my boot, or the mirror would come loose after a 20 minute ride no matter what I did to keep it tight short of welding it in place.
