Great stuff many thanks for the hard work. For the main route, not the offshoots, is it big bike friendly i.e. 12gs?

I did it on an R12GS 1-1/2 years ago. As long as the water is down aroud the gulf side and you are comfy or will get comfy with sand quick, yes it’s doable on a big bike.

The SEAT runs up to Covington, VA (through Damascus)... The new MABDR runs from Damascus up to the PA/NY line. All big bike friendly as long as you stay off the expert/alts. Some is a little more challenging then the stuff way down south in the sense of rockiness and some climbs versus sand. Did I answer your question? Are you over thinking it? :-)

If you ride in pairs, or more, always send the more talented rider first thru expert sections. Then that rider can relay best line info and identify the crux of the section. Of course having comms is key with this.

Just a reminder...Always stay to the right on corners. Was on section 8 yesterday heading west, and yes I was moving at a 'brisk' pace, and rounded a double lane 30+ degree blind right and the oncoming small red pickup mid-corner was in my lane and DID NOT yield at all. Lucky for me I was mostly right and we passed with not much between us other than dust.

Good section though, and the canopies make for nice riding. Bring your sand game for 7 & 8.

it amazes me the amount of that type of hostility I encounter when out in the backcountry.

I got run off the road and into a ditch in Alabama, and in GA had to pull over for a truck when I was in the middle of a climb. I was leaning left with nowhere for my right foot to go too. Otherwise my trip was a blast.

Leaving this morning from Southeast Tenn. to ride the lower loop. 3 of us going to try to ride it in 5 days or less. Running it clockwise trying to save the West side to last , It's been getting hammered with rain for weeks... 2 KTM 500's, and a Yamaha WR 250, camping....

Yes I’d like to see it as well esp. since the incredible amounts of rain have rendered many areas unrideable
