I think I would call it hammering it, whole lot of sand riding, two flat tires and an awesome sunrise at the gulf of Mexico..

Just how much of the SEAT is dirt vs the slab?

Good deal. Might be something for me to think about. Plus I was looking for some new skins for the bike and really was undecided on what I might need this spring.

I may be heading to Fla after MMM and was thinking about using as much of the SEAT from Tellico to the Gulf as I could. Anything I should be aware of as a solo rider on a GSA? I consider myself an upper intermediate rider if that helps.

Was on it a few days ago. As you get further south in Georgia, the sand gets more "interesting" on a big bike! :jack

And that’s my concern as I haven’t spent any real time in sand. Add that to going solo I may have to make sure I have an alternate route.

The east side has more sand than the west side... at least until you get to Florida. Then it's a tossup.
It's the south side of the east side that has the most sand, along with the east side of Florida.

I had never ridden any sand when I made my solo trip on the r12gs. If I can do it, then someone with moderate skills can also. If riding either direction, I think the sand builds as you go. I quickly adjusted, had a few interesting moments, discovered sand is fun, and that it doesn’t hurt if you fall (in the sand!) as compared to rocky and woods tracks.

If you end up doing this, I would suggest going down the west side through N. Georgia over to the Talladega NF and down to Carrabelle. The whole SEAT is big bike friendly with not much to worry about.

I have a line on a section parallel to SE03 that would add 25mi +/- of gravel to be considered for a Dark Green "alternate main route". And about 5-10mi that may be a Blue "somewhat challenging alternate". I hope to ride it this spring to confirm and report back.
