Hmmm... well, most stuff up in the mountains is going to be snowy, so it's usually off to the desert for winter riding. I've got a ride planned in Feb. in Anza Borrego, but I'm certainly not opposed to something sooner than that.

I could be interested. I’m in flagstaff. Would bring a 500 on the back of the van. So could be open to either camping option. When you thinking and where?

Hi there. If you left on a Sat, I could do any weekend, and more in January. Like Sat-Mon or Tuesday.

If you have no current plan, I would say why not run the CA BDR? It’s suppsed to be a winter route. Should be able to look up the sections in Basecamp and see the highest elevation, and plan accordingly.

I can help with some planning.

    Where are you based?

Does Sat, Jan 26 sound okay? (Just throwing out a date.). That leaves a lot of time for trip planning, debating sleeping arrangements, etc,

I’m debating running the 1-15 and north sectors ~Jan 1-4’ish, coming down from SLC and moto camping most likely.

You can get to Bodie off Hwy 395 in winter, but it's just a dirt road leading out there that a bus could handle. There are other roads leading out the other side, but they get completely snowed in. Still, if you're in the area Bodie is a good ghost town to visit.

During summer, there are a lot more places to visit via 4x4 trails. Abandoned mines, old cabins, wild donkeys, etc. Some of them might be accessable in winter, but I'm not sure.
