    Nancy,

Had an awesome time riding with you... weather was great, roads were smooth, and company even better. :lol3

Have a great rest of your trip....looks like you're going to have a blast!

Here's a few shots of that spot we passed up on the way to the campground.

    Mario :clap

If we don't stick to the schedule (at least the part about getting on the ferry in Haines), I won't have a job waiting for me when I get back.........oh, wait, you don't have a job! So that's how one makes time to rest and kick back! :jkam I do it by limiting lots of days to less than 400 miles.

PS, hope to run across you somewhere in the (not so) frozen north!

I just learned of whereamiriding.com yesterday, seems like a good thing, just registered. I do like tinyurl though, they have a new feature with a link for your browser that enables automatic 'tinyurling' with one click.

    Hey Mario!
My first day of riding with you was a great send off....I spent my second day solo just having a blast and meeting some great people along the way.

And Mario cooked an awesome meal, even brought his own knife sharpener.

    Chicken cooked over open fire.

Passed through Modoc thanks for JetDocX giving me a good route.

    And found some pork
    [IMG]

Mount Shasta was my constant companion
    [IMG]

Made it to Crater Lake, where I frozen my butt off and was read the riot act about walking away from my campfire to pee.

That will go on my list of reasons to travel with someone.

Thinking of riding around the back of Mt Rainer tomorrow on the way to Seattle.

Portland to Vancouver on the 14 along the river then North on the 30/51, then the 25 and East on the 12 to the 410.

Can someone confirm that the 30/51 and 25 are paved?

NFD 25 that runs all the way north to 12 is paved. Hth

30 is paved and 51 is not. Some of my Bro's said 51 gets a quite a bit of a hump down the middle, but you can make it with no issues. Not sure how the road is this time of year. A lot of washed out roads this time of year down south and east of cascades. Maybe someone with real recent experience might pipe in. I'll ring them this afternoon. Hth S

    Thanks Suitcase.
Yes the weather has been just wonderful so far and met a lot of riders along the way.

Made it to Eugene to meet up with Danny, whom I rode to Portugal with last summer.

Then on to Portland to stay with my friend Brooke who's son is already into motorcycles!

Then met Jerry from ADV who helped me figure out how to best see Mt Rainier.

And finally Mt Rainier from all sides!

I'm glad to see you are going to make it to D2D. Only Tigers there last year were Girlies. I will be a day ahead of you in Tok, but will be in Dawson when you get there. Good luck and have a great trip!!

SPOT tells me you made the Island! I'm off for D2D tomorrow at O'dark thirty, have to cross West Texas first though, and then Wyoming (and a few other states/and or provinces.) But I'll be there!

PS, if you didn't hear, try to find someone with a July 2013 Rider Magazine and check out page 104, Three Twisted Sisters.

Seattle was a good time with friends.

And off to Victoria where I ran into Aaron from Victoria whom I'd met at Mt Rainier. Where I told him and his posse that 25 was closed but they went anyway....

Aaron gave me a great nickle tour of Victoria

Now at Yatman's home and this is my lovely room for tonight!

    Riding to Port Hardy tomorrow....

Had a lovely ride North on Vancouver Island with Wyatt and Marlene who extended phenomenal hospitality.

Made it to Port Hardy in short order....without even 1 wildlife sighting.

And everyone sure was right about how beautiful the ferry crossing was!

Prince Rupert is a cute little town and the Pioneer Inn quite comfortable.

Next stop Haines. Still looking to ride Haines-Tok-Anchorage June 14/15 with someone....

Looks like you're having a great trip so far! This doesn't completely gel with your schedule, but on June 16 I'll be riding from Chicken to Tok to Anchorage, after attending the infamous Chickenstock Music Festival. So if by chance your schedule gets delayed by a day, I might be able to hook up with you in or near Tok.

    Happy trails!

Well the Haines ferry is late, in Ketchikan.

Spending June 13th in Skagway and leaving June 14 for Tok.
I will keep that in mind....so you'd be in Tok the evening of June 16th?

It's only 60mi from Chicken to Tok so she'll prolly be coming thru Tok late morning.

Ketchikan is where I was born. I'll be there in about 6wks.

Have fun and see you soon, Mark H.
