Enticing is an interesting description. Whilst I look back fondly on the 3 bike collection, I much prefer the simplicuty of 1

I imagine swapping plates to another bike could lead to a world of bank balance hurt if things went to shit.

To steel the thread for a moment. One gone. Not including consumables it cost me $400 for 16 years use. 288F17FF-7F21-41E6-9C2D-D55C0E191E47.jpeg

So Trev, have you worked out the size, type or style of bike you would like to be riding?

I think I would be much happier on a DR...

I'm seeing what I can get for the WR before I really go looking, pretty much narrowed it down to a KTM 350EXC, or Beta 350, but if I can pick up a late 250/300 2T I might go that route.

But a 250 4t is still not of the cards, there is a couple of low K 15 and newer WR250fs that fall into my (hopeful) price range.

I have tomorrow off and I am considering trying to get the surrogate VIN for it, or just let the buyer decide if he wants to stuff around with it and I take a hit on the price.

Depending on the year, some of the 350 Betas were more racy than the Beta 390. The 390 was apparently a really good trailbike.

    2 Guzzis and a 640.
Do you have a vibrator in the cupboard too?

A Le Mans III has always been on my wish list. Wont happen.

Now I'm closer to the making decisions end of what to replace my bikes with I'm a bit conflicted.

Part of me wants a 350 because I liked the TE250 so much, part of me is thinking a 450/500 might be a better choice because this bike will be getting road rego, and then part of me is being all sensible and looking at low K KLX450s...

I will be doing tighter single track on this bike, but I want to get out a bit more on it as well and wouldn't mind the longer legs for the longer stretches...

Went did some single track yesterday with my neighbor who has a 14 WR450. Gave him a ride on my 350. His words, fuck that's awesome, heaps lighter and more managable. He is around 70kg about 5"9, he also liked the mousses for traction compared to his low pressure tubes. I think if i was going to ride a bit of tar/dirt road/adv type stuff the bigger cc's would be more sensible.

Your right, I have a trailer and a bike rack, I will not be doing any big Ks.

If I am doing big Ks and dirt roads I have a KLE for that.

    Dont over think it.

For a moment, think of the 350EXC and consider what it WONT do in your list of requirements. None from what i can see. Maintains good resale potential as well.

Not long back i wouldnt consider anything less than 500cc in a 4 stroke. Why would you have 450cc when you can have 500cc? Geez let alone a 350! My brother had a late Husky 300 4T. I dont know how he put up with it. Then a mate brought along a ‘13 350EXC. Well i was impressed. These things cover alot of requirements.

Best to take one for a test ride. It helps to clear the fog.

You’ve got enough guys interested in your dilemma now. They want to win the “ pick my bike contest”!! So ask these mates for a test ride. Or organise a ride with at least one of each on the ride?? These guys have really shown their narrow minded preferences! Can you believe it!!
