Yep, spot on. It's a great feeling to chop the intercom part and just listen to some music for a bit. Or listen to the Austrian V twin music played thru an Akra in front of you. I will say with JB on the back it's a bloody great thing to have an intercom. She's not the most comfortable passenger, still a bit of a nervous pervous, so being able to talk to me rather than communicate via kidney punches has been fantastic.

I had the early non-USB, non-upgradeable SMH-10's. Wife, brother, dad, a couple friends, we wore them out. Mostly worked OK for intercom, worked great with phones and GPS. A couple of us upgraded to the USB ones, got more nice features. Most have crapped out in the past couple years after many many miles. Now most friends have the 10s, I have the 20s, and these work together reasonably well. Still a few glitches.

I really like the 20s ambient noise feature. Without it, I can't hear anyone for crap when we stop (I use custom earplugs). I'd buy the 20s again, otherwise I recommend the 10s.

Interesting read, I do like my SENA 20s has taken me a bit to figure it out but has anyone else had an issue where the volume increases its self to full volume when playing music and it starts to beep at me to tell me it's At fill volume, becomes a pain in the ......?

I has this problem as well. Turns out it was the dial rubbing on my jacket whcih was inflating a little a speed and self adjusting the volume. Re positioned it on my helmet and issue gone.

Looks like a precursor to the human centipede... but we won't go there.

Both Racketeer and I had trouble fitting it into our Shoei helmets but they eventually went in with some heavy persuasion.

Keep playing Mudguts - i'd be really surprised if you couldn't make it fit.

Reading all this I'm starting to wonder if there is a way to communicate with my club members using the Sena 10 and 20 units via my trusty old Autocomm Active Plus hardwired to my helmet. No battery to be concerned about, works every single time I've used it ...all day...all night long.
I've always been very pleased with the music sound quality and performance for comms via FRS radios...but my BMW club riders use Sena units....I need to find a way to connect to them.

No-one that I've seen in here has mentioned the Sena 5 series. I'm looking at the SMH5-FM.

Probably fine, as long as you stick to Nolan helmets. Change your helmet and you have a paperweight. They are a Sena anyway, or used to be.

Recently got a Cardo Packtalk Slim twin pack with a mate via chromeburner for $600 shipped

Big upgrade from the Sena SMH10R I had before. Build quality much higher, app works well, sound quality much improved

Anyone else gone from Sena to Cardo?
