Bob, Bob, Bob, asphalt sucks.
Not on a 2 wheeled Winnebago it doesnt.
Clearing the Beartooth right now, trying to get it open on schedule this Friday:
That's a bit of snow, eh?
Hey Steve, provisionally planning to arrive on Wednesday June 21st, and then riding the famous Lolo Pass on the following day. Appeciate it if you could book 75F temperatures, sun, and 5 mph winds.
^ I'll take 60 from daybreak until late afternoon. 75 after that until dark. Oh yeah, hold off on the rain and high winds this time, too, if you can swing it. Thanks.
I'm planning to come up from the south into Lewiston area and riding Lolo east on Thursday into Hamilton.
You guys are all aimin' at the Bigfoot Burger!
Gotta warm up for Nap's!!!
Hey Naps is moving down the block to main street, they're in full construction now and it's all secretive boarded up and stuff so nobody can see what they're doing. They have a liquor license and all that for the new place. I'll ask Bill when they're opening up, he's a friend who's one of the owners.
Now you have me going buddy...
What is your route to Lewiston?
That would be a new route in for me, and I like new routes!!!
Go up 84 out of Boise and get to Enterprise/Joseph area. The you ride the Grande Ronde into Lewiston. Spectacular.
Nothing set in stone yet, but generally mountains ASAP after leaving here. NM, to Four Corners area and Moki Dugway, Utah meandering north bypassing the Interstates as much as possible, maybe a bit of NV and Tahoe, possibly a touch of WA and OR, then into Lewiston to Shady's. I'm going to make this a relax trip so speeds will be lower, camping all the way, blood pressure lowering, lower food intake (except for Bigfoot burger).
Thank you Steve and Eric.
Ok, route now fixed to the 84 north out of Boise. I haven't been to Boise since I went there in an RV on my first trip to the USA with my late wife in the 90's (when I still lived in the UK).
I cant freakin' wait!!
I will be bringing my tent for camping en route, but may motel it if the temps are really high and I feel a need for some air con and a pool. Yes, I am such a wuss.
I am planning on getting into Shady's Friday midday, probably going near the Boise area if anybody else is doing the same always enjoy riding with ADVers.
OBTW, my "Dirty Girl" only does street now. Rumor has it that a mason jar full of sprite may be riding with me!
For anyone contemplating heading north on CA Coastal H1, looks like its closed for the foreseeable future.
Glad I rode 1 last year, it's gonna be a while before it's back open.
Hwy 1 was out of commission until September with the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge replacement - this will do it in for a year at least.
That's a great road - it's been my favorite way to come back from northern Idaho forever.
Hondo, CamoGreg, and I rode that N-S after stopping in Lewiston to meet CG for breakfast and ride with him for a bit before we headed to the coast. CG got to ride it both ways that day
^ oh yeah, baby!
