Climbing White Bird Summit from the south is fun.
(check out old hwy 95 on Googlemaps for an alternate)

and Grangeville to Kooskia where you hit 12, is good.

I remembered you telling me about it last summer, figured I'd give it a shot this year. Gonna bring a gold pan along and stop at a couple of culverts on the way down. Maybe I'll strike it rich. Seigal Creek road is the nothern boundary of a pretty rich gold district. If I hit it big, drinks are on me.

A bit of snow in the beartooth pass area, should be gone in a day or two.

If anyone is looking for an overnight location in the Sun Valley, ID area let me know. I won't be at the Hamilton gathering as I have a pre-existing ride to McCall planned for the same weekend. I'm leaving on the morning of the 23rd but would be happy to offer an overnight option for the evenings of the 22nd or before.

Another option, if anyone would be interested in riding the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route, would be to meetup near Anderson Dam (i.e., Pine, ID) and ride northward together. I would need to cut-out near Yellow Pine to head towards McCall. You could continue on the IDBDR all the way to Hamilton, MT. This option would require meeting up on the 22nd in order for me to make my 7am appointment in McCall on the 24th. I'll be riding an Africa Twin. Note: this option would more than likely put you in Hamilton on the evening of the 24th which may or may not be too late depending on your plans.

Skalkaho pass is closed as of now with several washouts. Only info I have is Closed until further notice. Check if you're riding that way next week.

Not looking very promising to get away for this one.... a project wraps up tomorrow, looked like clear sailing for a week or 10 days.

Have another project that went dormant for a few weeks contact me this morning, it got put back on my radar screen for the next two weeks - fire drill, asap, etc. :bluduh

When I do get away though - I was heading north anyway, so I'll drop by for a quick howdy on my way...

I'm leaving towards Shady's Monday morning (planning for dawn) staying as high in the mountains as I possibly can the whole way at "mosey" speed.
