Motel in Grande Prairie AB tonight
Sparing no expense on the sniper mat....
We took an hour for dinner and made it to Portland about 45 minutes ago. The Jetta has just under 1/2 tank of fuel. We filled it in Victor, MT.
Greg, thanks for the routing - it was an excellent choice.
Good to meet you!
Wish things would have worked out better to hear your son play.
While noodling around with Shady, it promised to be fantastic.
That damn storm had no respect with its timing
Breakfast at 8 Kellye!
Awesome to meet you and I’m so happy you could be at our humble gathering! It’s such a rewarding experience to be around happy positive people living life to the fullest. I am personally enriched and thankful to be able to be around so much awesomeness. Keep ‘er between the ditches!
A few of us sat around the shop today after doing the forks on my DR650 (awesome @ER70S-2 ) drinking beer and laughing about our new saying we picked up from you....Un-Fucked it!
Great to meet you Scott and keep your cool boy playing that Rush!
Casa Shady still standing?
Safe and sound in southern BC. Never a dull moment...tomorrow we’re making moonshine.
Had a blast as usual. It was great to meet some new faces and hug the rest of you. I’m pissed I didn’t get up in time to hug the sasquatch goodbye.
I hope pilot survived the day. Thanks Shady!! Your awesomeness goes to 11.
Load bearing walls held above 70% integrity
Great to meet you Mel, I'm really glad you could make it up to the place. Digging that R75 of yours!
We had a great time, thanks for putting on the shindig. It was good to finally meet everyone.
James has already asked about Shady IV.
It was good to meet you too.
James was a bit bummed to not play with Steve and his band. He's been asking about attending next year, so I think it's safe to say he enjoyed the gathering. I know he picked up some valuable life advice from someone as he masterfully deflected his girlfriend's shit test when we stopped for lunch in Lewiston. Watching that was worth the cost of the whole trip.
Thanks again, Steve.
Gearing up for getting back to the grind.
The afterglow of ShadyIII still alive.
You're a class act, my friend. It's not everyone who would open up their home and be so welcoming as it is at Shady Acres.
A perfectly beautiful venue and an exceptional host.
And the guests....awesome to see y'all again. Along with the new faces to go with the names here.
Thanks Steve. It was awesome meeting all you guys (and gal). Being gone paid off spectacularly last night when I got home, haha.
@Xbt2 I'm so glad James passed his shit test and wants to come back. Maybe he can avoid some of the pitfalls we didn't see. Looking forward to hearing him wail with the band.
All you other fuckers are awesome. I feel kinda pedestrian shooting and drinking with mega cyber-engineers, judges, contractors, pilots, rock stars, globe-trotting geotechnical engineers, ammo gods, naval engineers, all you other industrialized men.. Geesh, who invited all the engineers?
Made a few friends I hope to keep in contact with between Shady meets.
@CamoGreg Shady "acres"? Stop using our Canadian spelling rules, or we'll bring all of our "U"s into your colors and neighbors.
Steve, thanks again for the hospitality! Kelye
In honor of the Canadian riders, you'll change the name to Shady Hectares

43 years running and still going long distance! (Savagely Awesome)
Then my guitar got new strings!
This crazy dude rode for hours, before Shady I, to deliver a bottle of bourbon to @Project84 which he then rode here from Kentucky to hand deliver. This year he made it in person, with more special run top shelf bourbon. @voodoo child total class, man.
Signs on the walls helped Savages navigate the barn
Most people hit the road but @ER70S-2 did a fork job for my DR650. I kinda held the light, this guy is The Master.
Monday night right now. Spent the last day and a half cleaning, dump run, putting shit away, returning kegs, now collapsed on the couch for a serious night of not doing A Fucking Thing.
Once again, thank you so much to the inmates who took the time to attend my little barbecue. It's in the books now.
Shady III. Return of the Savage!!!
Not home yet, but the cold is much better. Not gone, but better. Didn't cough all over the inside of my visor today nearly as much as yesterday.
It took far longer to ride through the Black Hills than I thought it would. I didn't realize Spearfish Canyon Road was posted 35 mph the whole way. Fortunately, the trooper hiding around that one corner didn't take offense at me exceeding that somewhat.
In North Platte tonight.
Thanks again, Steve. Very much worth the trip.
A simple 'Like' does not do justice to this post.
More like..... 'I fukkin' luv this post and pictures!!!!' along with a big 'Hell Yeah'!!!!
Get some well-deserved sleep now!!!!
Awesome couple of days, Steve! Thanks for the hospitality. It was great to see everyone again, and meet a bunch of guys I only knew as avatars. Safe travels everyone.
Who's the ugly guy with the candy bar?
