I’m in Green Lake, Suckscatschewon tonight.

But I only hit 10,000 miles yesterday, the Jamboree and I don’t do high mile days, too much dilly dallying. I am at 18,989 for this summer though including the mileage to Key West and back. :dj

    Makr’s shoes ...

    Congrats :thumb

No, the Jamboree is unsuited for 400 miles of dirt, one way. Heck, I had a complete tread separation on the highway, going < 60 mph. I’m toying with a return trip in the AWD van next year, Prudhoe and Tuktoyaktuk are calling my name. :ear

I bet Makr had a bit more fun doing that to his shoes than you did doing that to your tire...

For the curious, I got home from Shady's on Saturday, September 29th - 3-1/2 months after leaving home. I drove 24,307 miles, about 14k of them in Canada from the west coast (Prince Rupert) to the east (Sept Iles). :dj

It has been quite an adventure. There have been two melancholy moments, one in Homer, Alaska when I realized this is as far as I can get in this direction and that same feeling on the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia when I realized everything from here is toward home.

The final "I'm done." hasn't happened yet as I'm still planning to continue to San Diego and then east to El Paso. That will complete an X of the United States and Canada, connecting the X across the top and bottom (I drove El Paso to Key West earlier this summer). I'll also have driven all 49 continental states in the two years I've owned the Jamboree, 47 of them this summer.

I didn't get to Newfoundland, that looks like a two week tour minimum and I didn't quite have the time.

Saturday was my first experience with travel weary, those last 260 miles took forever. I had been exhausted before, especially on the east coast but Saturday I was just tired of driving.

I'm taking a two week refresh break :jkam and then, weather allowing, will head for San Diego.
