Am planning a Summer09 South America trail. Have been torn between buying a bike in Chile / Argentina or shipping my super unmanouverable Enfield Bullet:super from India. Looking for pointers regarding people / processes / prices for such transport.

    Anyone done that before?
What papers I need for carrying me and my bike across all countries?
This 'carnet' thingie :deal- do I need it for an Indian registered bike?
Do I need an International Drivers Permit?
    Anything else / important?

Possible, you'd have to get in touch with www.aasindia.in which will issue you the carnet.
Then ask around for whats the shipping cost to South Americas. It shouldn't be more than 20000 INR.
