1. Hey everyone, We’re going to start a weekly email to surface interesting threads in the forums. No worries, you can easily unsubscribe if you don’t find it interesting. If you’re like me, it’s nice to have someone willing to poke around a big community like ours and find the most interesting stuff. Saves time and I hate missing something great. It worked really well when we had someone discovering the best photos for the home page rotation back in the day. And if you have something fascinating to post, maybe this email does everyone some good by getting it noticed. Let us know what you think when you get it. Your feedback will make it better as we go (thread). Thanks! Baldy & rudy1220

HI Folks, I registered quite a while back but have not post before.
Quick intro: I had a KLX250 then a DR500 when I was younger, then had a 30 year break to raise a family. Got a KLR650 3-4 years back and recently updated to a Tiger 800 XC. I love camping trips and wish I had time to do more of it.
So, to my question that I'm looking for help with, I searched and mostly came up with old/outdated hits. A few of my mates & I plan to do a trip from Alice Springs, down the Oodnadatta, Flinders Ranges and back to Sydney but want to ship the bikes to Alice rather than ride there from Sydney.
Does anyone have any suggestions for shipping 4 or 5 bikes at a reasonable cost? The options I've come up with so far are either putting them in a crate which presents problems disposing of the crate in Alice, or shipping bare in which case the price goes up dramatically. ($1,000 plus)
Shipping in a crate is about $500 but has some issues for us.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

get in touch with the bike shop in Alice. looked at buying a bike from them and getting it shipped. They said they do it all the time so probably have contacts.
