There is no BLM land next to Yosemite. It's all National Forest. See the Tent Rules thread...

Get in touch with @Benduro, he can suggest some spots (may not have services).

    Not true.
The river and the banks are BLM!
I've gotten speeding tickets in my river canyon from BLM rangers!

Carstens Rd behind the Midpines Store on highway 140 will get you into USFS land pretty quickly. Just a few miles in. Lots of little spots to camp, legally.

As you can see, green demarcates USFS.

That Carstens Rd. area looks interesting, I'll have to check it out next time. There are a few FS roads near Bass Lake, I've camped out there, not great but it works. Also found a spot near El Portal, but wouldn't recommend it. There's also some campgrounds on the east side of Tioga Pass, but that doesn't do any good this year as it'll probably be July before that pass opens.

You've got the long and the short of it.
You can take this network of roads all the way across to bass lake (where they filmed John Candy in The Great Outdoors) if you want.

Minarets Highway, continuing to Beasore Road, then onto 6S10X, Fresno Dome, and Fish Camp, get you into innumerable camping spots with views of canyons, or trees (sometimes both). Go crazy out there, the snow is melting, should be fine. Lord, I've gotten into so much trouble in that south of Yosemite area, it would fill a book.

Camp where you like and tell the ranger that you are homeless. Seems to work in Oregon.
