Hell yeah, that gets my blood pumping.
Waiting to hear from a Brother, may have a cone shovel again. Can't seem to get them out of my blood, and I keep swearing I'm done with old iron. Will have to off the sportster if it happens, at least I think I will. Pics to follow if it comes together :)
I finally got my bike home last weekend. I drove about 6 hours in the remnants of hurricane Delta to get it home so I have decided her name is "Delta".
I immediately got it on the lift and started tracing wiring problems. Found a bad accessory circuit breaker right away and picked up one at NAPA that worked perfect. This part is no fun as I have no turn signals, dash lights, or horn.
The worst part is the weather is perfect and I can't ride but this is not a quickie fix.
Yeah, that's GROSS. That's why I worked OT and gave my engineer/motorcycle building buddy money to chase down my electrical issue. I *******HATE********* wiring issues
You and me both brother!
I bought this one owner Shovel in 2018.
I have multiple bikes, so, I decided to do some mild "Chopper" type stuff, just for fun.
This is my second Shovel, an 81 FXE with lots of wrong parts, tank, etc.
I will start a build thread on this bike in Some Assembly Required.
The bike has sat since 06, but, fired up and ran well, everything worked.
I have 2. My baby is this 84 FLHS ( modified over the years). Had it since 86. Bought it from a barefoot and pregnant lady that was real mad at her husband for stepping out in her..
Been Florida to San Diego and back, Chicago, upstate NY and Sturgis. Not to mention normal everyday riding.
Bought a 03 RKC in 05 so the shovels don't get ridden as much.
Mine in 1994.
Lots of nice shovels here! Here's mine. 69FLH. 80 FXE and 84 FLH below.
Nice bikes Swanson!!! Everything I like from HD. Small tank Superglide, Genny Shovel FLH, and an 84 FLH. Fantastic bikes!!!
I got to the root of my wiring woes. Found this. Have all the lights and turn signals working now just waiting on a horn button and front brake light switch to put it all back together.
Oh, and that socket you lost.... I found it. It was wedged behind my countershaft sprocket and ruined a new chain the previous owner had had installed. It wouldn't even fall out when the chain broke and came off, I had to fish it out backwards with a long magnet. Just lucky it didn't do more damage, I guess.
Oh for the love of d8g let it be a 10mm. That'd be ironic! Good find on the wiring, common too, self inflicted.
Gross!!!!! Nice find, I think...
