Parts are getting put back on in the O.R......
An extra benefit of having Dr. Jason work on Hondo..... Hondo always comes back home spotlessly clean!.....

Cylinders were bored to .010"..... pistons are forged and have a 8.3:1 compression ratio..... slightly better than the 7.4:1(?) stock.....
Should work well with the Andrews A/B cam and the S&S Super E carb..... without getting crazy and sacrificing reliability and rideability.....
Heads look brand new almost!..... new valve springs..... at least 1 new valve, maybe all, I'm not sure..... and all the required machining to make them work like new.....
Howard and Son's in Phelan CA did all the machine work and head assembly..... only 8 miles from the house..... they are the "go-to" guys here in the High Desert for all types of bike machine work...... been here for at least 40 years or so.....

Dennis, I have it on good authority that ol' Wile E has been up to no good when you are out trying to make a living. Heard something about "flying pigs"????

    Hondo Lives!!!!!!

Dr. Jason has done a great job getting Hondo back together and running..... He also had some parts powdercoated black to tone down some of Hondo's farklelishousness..... chrome don't get ya home....... but I guess black powdercoat don't get ya home either!.......
anyways...... I like the new look....... so does Wile E.......

The front exhaust flange has a tiny leak...... these things really bug Dr. Jason...... he'll pull the pipe off and hammer the flange to a greater degree of flatness..... or maybe even a slight convexity....... and possibly resort to a skim coat of Ultra-Copper RTV on the gasket.....

It's good to have Hondo back among the living!.....

Now, maybe - MAYBE - Wile E will settle down and leave your neighbors alone with all his rocket testing! :nod

Not an expert ... Not my bike... But I seem to remember Hondo got a donor motor a couple years ago. I like to follow along with the exploits and adventures

Oh man!........ I love those Starbursts!
This year is kind of full up with vendor events....... no big trips...... just maybe small ones......
But..... I'm thinking..... Next year I'd like to go from Morgan MT on the Canadian border down to Douglas AZ on the Mexican border......
all on Highway 191..... It would kind of be the opposite of my Mex-2-Can trip..... kind of......

    https://advrider.com/index.php?thre...us-from-south-to-north-with-a-coyote.1107740/

Except this trip would be all on one highway....... navigation would be so simple!...... I don't believe in GPS units....... they're a fad that will soon die off.....
I can just use a few Butler maps to guide my way.......

So..... now I said it........ and all you inmates can hold me to it next year.....

Got together with Wile E. to plan some upcoming adventures.....
Seems he snuck out to the Pacific Ocean..... conducted some Outward Bound-ish type classes..... He is a Genius, you know.....
Here's a photo of one of his late students..... The "tried-and-true" Helium-Filled-Mylar-Balloons-Tied-Around-Your-Neck-Descent-From-A-Cliff.....
The advanced students in the class do this while holding an anvil..... quite impressive...... they achieve terminal velocity very quickly!.....

Me and Wile E. came up with some good ideas for trips........ both long and short..... both Epic and Lame.....
He just needs to wait until the lawyers for all the familys stop calling him..... then he can leave the state.....
