Now that Hondo's back home...... I can test fit a new farkle on him.....

I'm always looking for the latest and greatest in Adventure luggage..... items that will survive the rigors of my "asphalt and motel" trips..... one night while drinking Banquets and skulking around on EBAY..... I stumbled onto this Gem..... I couldn't "Buy It Now" fast enough!.....

However...... I can see now how HUGE it is!..... it's at least 4X bigger than what I usually carry my clothes in..... I'm going to need a taller sissy bar too.....

It does say Adventure right on the patch..... so I know it will handle anything me, Wile. E., and Hondo can throw at it.....

Hmmmm..... quite a dilemna..... huge and unwieldy..... requires a new sissy bar..... but it will carry 2 18-packs of Banquets with ease!.....
That is a big plus right there!.....

I can see some deep, annalitticul thinking coming up over this situation.....

Hey Dennis... you could always attach a rack to the back... and bolt a milk crate to that... oh wait a minute... that's not a KLR... my sincere apologies to Hondo... where's my paper bag... :D

ps... I love KLR's, and pretty much anything else that rolls on two wheels, so I hope all you KLR owners don't flame on me too hard... :thumb

Hey Dennis... if I can help a fellow inmate figure out how to pack more beer on their bike, well then I'm doing some good in this world... :thumb

    Let's go to Bakersfield!
Hondo is all loaded for a few days..... Wile E. is antsy..... nice 150 mile ride over Tehachapi.....
    50 degrees...... "It's OK Captain..... I've got a coat.".....
    What could go wrong?.....

Well..... about 12 miles from home..... hear a slight clank..... clank..... clank..... clank..... hmmmmm..... pull over..... nothing obvious..... decide to head back home...... do the trip in another one of my junker rides.....
Head back a few miles..... turns into a clank..... clank..... clank..... clank..... please Hondo..... let's just get home.....
Another mile..... CLANK..... CLANK..... CLANK..... CLANK..... KUNK!!!!!..... then the engine locks up.....
I pull in the clutch and coast to the side of Hwy 138..... hmmmmm..... sounded a lot like when the rod broke 2 years ago.....
At least the front of the cases isn't blown out..... no visible carnage.....
Sit down..... roll a smoke..... take a photo..... call AAA and begin to run their phone system gauntlet.....

After a reasonable amount of time..... the rollback arrives..... I do the loading drill..... this ain't our first rodeo for sure!.....

Right now I'm drowning my sorrows in Banquets..... looking at carbed late 90's Dynas on Craigslist..... maybe I need to EVOlve!.....
I feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls away the football when he tries to kick it...... again......

:dunno :scratch Boy Dennis; it looks as if the bad luck keeps beating out the good luck 'round your homestead. I thought Hondo was all set up for a trouble free 50,000. Maybe a few (read many) Banquets will help the situation....Dave

Maybe your mechanic is the problem.

I've worked in automotive a long time... Even if it isn't the mechanics fault... This falls firmly in the evvasinceya.... Like evvasinceya worked on my tail light, it misfired at idle.
