Well tonight after work I headed for Souderton, a town I go to almost every week. I have rode by the post office for 34 years but never had a reason to stop until now...the mail box is there but it's no longer a post office, duh! :eek1

So I had found over 200 ton's, burg's, berg's and burgh's in PA and had loaded them from S&T into my two GPS's. I had also found a website that gave the lat/lon for post offices in PA and had marked them in the file also. So I check my main GPS and it had the location I was at. I then 'Find' the PO in both GPS's both showed about a mile down the road but about 1/2 mile apart. I rode by the first not seeing anything then the second turned out to be the township building. About this time a man walking his dog came by and I asked him where the PO was he explain it was back in the area the backup GPS had it located. So instead of back tracking there was another PO about 4 miles away and sense I had to come back on this road to go home I went to Earlington, both GPS's were dead on the location and I would may have missed it if they didn't tell me I was there.

So on the way home I went to GPS #2 guess, it was the township community center, as I made a u-turn in the parking to head for the hotel the man mentioned here he and his dog came walking by, he gave me directions again and there was a brand new post office off the main road about a mile.

Under a questionable weather forecast of severe thunderstorms, I went out to enjoy a 200 mile back road adventure, With NO Rain.

In the order I got them.

This weekend I went down to PA to combine a RTE (Ride to Eat) put together by Rick Miller the Rally Master of the Mason Dixon 20/20 and getting some more Tons and Burgs. The weather was a bit nasty when I left in the morning. The temperature was 48 degrees with a good strong wind driven rain. I seen the weather radar and it showed I would ride out of the rain within an hour and I did into beautiful sunshine. But the wind never let up. I had to be a sight with my bike leaned over hard on a straightway when some of the monster gusts of wind hit my bike broadside.

The Start, just does not show how nasty it is!

Rode hard battling the wind till I got to Easton, Hey I recognize that bike.

Said my good bye's and was advised by Rototiller that the Easton Post office was easy to miss, so with that we went and found it on the first try.

I then turned and burned towards home, knowing the weather was to get worse as I went north .
I then seen an exit sign for SaylorsBURG so I dove off and got it, That was not a planned stop, But 10 miles round trip to the highway, I had to get it.

While I was running off script, I seen that i could do the same for StroudsBURG. So add another 20 miles and I got it.

Then north to ScranTON, Now as I have said before, The wind was terrible, I wanted to get a picture of the line of postal trucks I was in going to the ScranTON Post Office But I needed both hands on the handlebars.

From Scranton I needed to get home, as I went north It just got colder and it rained much harder, The last 30 miles were some of the worst riding conditions I have ever ridden in. Debris on the roads, 50+ MPH gusts of wind, Wet snow... 35 degree temps...

But I still had a great ride...

Well, after 550 miles yesterday . I netted 14. I lost one due to a bad picture. The sign reflected the light and the glare just killed it. Took three angles too. None of them came out. Also had one with no sign, or Post Office. I notice my moving average on my GPS was 49mph. Not bad with all the stops and back roads. Hows everybody else doing ?

I have not posted in a while because I have been in preparation for and running the Minuteman 24 rally in New Hampshire last week end. I had a good finish and I am very happy with how I did. Now we plan for next year.
I want to congratulate the MM24 winner Jim Abbott for his win and also let folks know that he is also playing the Titanic Tour game with us. I have talked with three IronButt Rally veterans who are also playing this game.

This tour is an excellent way to hone your routing skills and working on your photo bonus skills. I have also used it to test farkles to the bike and make sure they worked fine for the event .

Good news is we are back on the road this weekend heading towards GaleTON PA to the BYOB meet. So I will be hunting tons and Burgs along the way.

It is amazing how much can get in the way of getting my tour pictures.
I have been having to work a lot of overtime lately. Good news is it lets me buy stuff for my rally bike, bad new is it cuts into my riding time in a big way.:cry But just coming off of being unemployed, I will accept this fate. :nod

Got these on my way to the ADV BYOB meet in GaleTon PA

Today we doug out my 1984 Harley Electra Glide, It I plotted a route that would have me turning the bike over to 95,000 miles today. 260 for today, had a great ride in great weather. Funny thing happened, at 94992, the speedo stopped.
