As always I'm late to the party! This is excellent stuff, probably something I'll never get to do.

Anyway, your big eagle is a Eurasian Black Vulture Aegypius monachus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinereous_Vulture

If you ever get up into Tibet, you might see them at one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_burial

Does the DVD have subtitle tracks? English subtitles would be enough for not fluent english hearers.

    Hi Walter,

Sorry to be a butinski, but I am in a bar in Sort Spain drinking with a German biker called Marko who met Sherri Jo on her travels in a bar "Toca da Raposa" in Portugal and would like to say hi... if you could pass on the message, as you can find her better than me.

The world is a small place.

    Cheers

:clap:clap:clap Can you believe I'm reading this report from A to Z for about the 3rd time? Not a heck of a lot else to do getting over a separated shoulder and torn rotary cup. Dang deer!
Still a great read with great pictures. Again, thanks to all for the pictures and narrations to bring meaning to the pictures. :freaky:clap:clap:clap

    Hello Walter,

I'm sure you read that 1000 times...anyway...awesome report...again. I learn so much from your RR...thanks really!

I have a little wish if it is possible. I read that you ride for a short time with 2 Dutchman's on Yamaha ATV. Ill really try with connection (link) which you mentioned in your RR...but no success.

Maybe you have any other contact...or anything that can help.

I would really like to contact them, since next year I'm riding with my ATV in Mongolia through Stan-s!

    Thanks in advance.

    WOW, really impressive!

Big respect to Sherri Jo, for doing such a daring trip, learning so fast and well, and living up to all challenges on the road (or off the road, to be more precise)!

I have just one curiosity, more of a 'zoo-technical' one, how did you manage to keep the bears away when you camped on the abandoned part of the old summer road?

i never heard of any motorcyclists having problems with bears there (along old summer road) ... they are not such a big risk unless you are near the coastal rivers of Magadan Oblast.

Wait until 400+ pounds of black bear lunges out of the woods in front of you - close enough that I wiped his ass with my knee on the way by!

I've camped a couple weeks in Alaska and northern Canada where you had better be aware of the bears. Saw lots of black bear and grizzly's and didn't have any trouble, but I wasn't cooking any bacon in the morning in camp either, didn't want any uninvited guests..........

My jaw just hit the floor.

Walter-dude, you tell one hell of a story, and now this:eek1

If you ever find yourself in south Louisiana-well, you're welcome in my house anytime for a bed, food, tools, laundry-but you'd better stay out of Ms. Dirty's secret "crafts nook".

Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Can't wait to see that happened to the bike.
