1939 Slim Williams and John Logan rode two BSAs from Alaska to the lesser 48 to promote the idea of a highway between the two. As shown, at times they lashed the bikes together. Williams’ bike is in the Museum of the North in Fairbanks, on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Williams had previously (1933) mushed a dog team from Alaska to Chicago for the same reason.
