Oh yea make it easy Layton. It was a test, if you can't find the start you'll never be able follow the course.:rofl
(of course you had to follow me to find it the first time)

http://ridemtra.com/Maps/VTRA.GIF < This is where it's at! You can use county road 75 before KK, it's a little better shape than our road across from KK. Big sign right side of CR75 at our driveway. If you are not camping park out in front of the shelter, for camping veer right past the shelter into the woods. :deal

For those on little GPS's like me, I just threw a version of the tracks up with the routes simplified to 500 points max over in Seig's track thread

Hey guys if anybody cares. The Bixby Store opens at 4AM for breakfast and closes at 6:30PM. If you are there by 6PM they'll keep the kitchen open till everybody is fed.

The first half of today was simply the best riding I've ever got to do.

    Awesome track! Thanks Sieg.

well i ran it Saturday until 106, by then I was too worn out, from crossing the rivers 11 times, stalling out in one(tc was on) ,coming out of the river onto a pile of sand and sticking it only to have to get on my knees ,holding the bike up with my left hand while scooping out the tires with my right hand. took a wrong turn at Morrison crossing and then promptly dropping the bike in a mud hole, got it back up only to drop it again in another big mud hole. so I was either really stupid, or really brave to do it on a Tenere.

this is my son Toadnumber55 in van burean .with a dead GPS,low beam headlamp out, left hand mirror broken, and the gas cap missing. He was way ahead of me and the guys said he took a big digger in a mud hole.

I'dd like to thank the guys who let him tag along with them , esp. whoever paid for his gas in VB.

Came home with a sore butt from all the riden, I am trying to explane to my family what 450 miles of 90% gravel is like and word's cannot desribe it. Sieg layed out one hell of a route, of that 90% half of it was 2 track, mudholes, creek crossing (some with snoot rocks some without) did I mention mudholes, we did not see a mailbox for 40 miles at one point.
This is definitly a bucket list ride, light bikes and pack light and ride your ass off. In my opinion SMART will have a cult following.

    My count was
    9 turkey's
    14 ducks
    3 deer
    8 turtes
    11 dogs
    6 old schoolbus's
    4 mattresses
1 random dude sitting in a chair in middle of nowhere?:clap

I'll put together a writeup on "Malhon's summer top to the SMART Ride" aka "Don't keep this guy to Vegas" tomorrow, but the cliffs notes version is:

    1 forgotten pair of boots
+ 3 KTMs terrorizing southern Missouri
+ 1 unfortunate cat and a gpx ending in the middle of a field
    + 1 blowed up 450 exc
+ a good Samaritan with a stock trailer
+ Roaddad and the 74k mile WRR to the rescue
= an insane 3 days and 1650 miles between the touareg, ktm, and wr life saver

Thanks to Seig for laying out the route, Leo and Leo's brother for setting a hell of a pace, Roaddad for lending me the WR for a late night run to Bixby, and everyone else for making it a fantastic ride despite the circumstances!

This is my first video so be kind.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zveq1VbWuE0&feature=youtu.be

As with all videos the water was actually deeper, hill climbs steeper and the descents were more gnarly.

PS - The other lesson I learned is you don't want to be the 20th person through a stagnant mud hole. :puke2

    for Toadady

We really enjoyed having your son ride with us. He's a good young man and does well on his dirt bike. We all had fun in the big boy section and on all the course we rode together on Saturday. No worries on the gas - not even a little thing.
