    Had a nice trip north from LA to Reno through the Sierra's.

    Here's a few shots of some hot springs.

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1054.jpg"/img src>

    These are all in the Owens Valley North of Bishop off 395. Called the Hot Creek Geological Area.

    This first couple of shots is Hot Creek. It looks like a hot springs source flowing into a river forming a giant pool. It looked great but a long walk down and I had many hot springs to check out, so I just took a few shots from the parking area.

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1055.jpg"/img src>

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1056.jpg"/img src>

    This is Shepperds Hot Spring. Very Nice.

    This one is called the Crab Cooker. Nice tub. Looks like it was undergoing some cleaning. Most of the springs in the area are in very good shape and clean of algae. No sulpher smell either.

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1063.jpg"/img src>

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1064.jpg"/img src>

    This was my favorite one. Simply called "the hot tub." Actually ok to camp here too.

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1065.jpg"/img src>

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1066.jpg"/img src>

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1067.jpg"/img src>

    This is Wileys. You can walk down this boardwalk for about a hundred yards, or if the ground is dry, ride up pretty close to it.

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1068.jpg"/img src>

    A goast rider shot

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1088.jpg"/img src>

    I think this is some aspens turning yellow

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1089.jpg"/img src>

    <img src="http://www.makarov.net/springs/img_1090.jpg"/img src>

    I took a great ride over to Benton and had some lunch at the cafe. Very nice loop off 395.

    I also checked out a bunch of others; Remmington Hot springs near Lake isabella. Very nice but a heluva hike back to your bike up a very steep hill. Kind of ruins the whole hot springs relaxing thing.

    And also Kehoe was really cool, but a few folks around.

    If you ever get the time, the whole run from Ridgecrest to Reno is loaded with hot springs and provides excellent excuses for getting off 395 and discovering some of the beauty of the little side trips throughtout the valley.

    I'll load up some more shots of sherman pass next.

    These are all shots of the Angeles Crest. It was a great ride. Fear of Fire was all over the news so almost no one was up there on a saturday. I stoped to take that picture with the bike in it and had a smoke and no one came by!

    I don't think so. I'm pretty worn out from the last 1500 miles. And I need to wait for a part to put in my swingarm strut.

    If I can get it together I'm gonna check out some Nevada Hot springs out on the black rock. I'm tired of runnin with all the luggage on the bike.

    Nice pictures. I have my HotSpring guides, and have stayed at several of the springs around Bridgeport. Travertine is right at the edge of town, and can be nice to stay at...just avoid when the rodeo is in town, or when the big cruiser rally is there....did that by mistake...oops. Nothing like a combinations of cowboys, Indians, marines from the desert mountain warfare school, and a bunch of bikers in a spring at once to make for intersting conversation...lol
    ride safe,
