It was great to see a couple familiar faces and meet many new people. Much fun was had:evil . Thanks to Mongox for serving up the breakfast:thumb .

JStory and I headded out toward the north bay at about 11am. We were free of the rain before we hit Angels Camp and had dry roads til we split just before Suisun City. As I passed Red Top Rd. on 80 I thought I got a few sprinkles, sure enough as I dropped into Vallejo, the sky opened and I got poured on for the last hour of my ride. Oh well, at least a hot shower and warm dry clothes were waiting at home.

Hey guys, thanks for a good time. Maybe next time there will be a ride involved.:eek1 It was good to meet you all.

Lucked out, rain til Angels Camp, then dry until 5 miles from home.

I owe someone some dough for the campspot. Who was on the 800GS?

I struggled early Friday morning with whether the weather was an issue. :scratch

I finally made the decision the people were worth the inconvenience and rode north at noon toward the storm.

Correct decision. :clap Wonderful people all of you, thanks for the good company. :thumb The campfire on Friday was classic ADV, good folks, huge fire, good beer and uncontrollable laughter, brilliant combination. Sleeping warm with rain hitting the fly all night, priceless.

The camp spot was fantastic and walking among the big trees Saturday morning shrouded in mist without shadows was surreal. Despite the rain there was a lot of life packed into the 30 hours of this trip.

I pulled out Saturday after packing my gear in a steady rain and by the time I had brekky down the hill in Murphys it had stopped. The ride home south was high and dry so I pulled off at every historical monument and explored some faint lines on the map as I took the long way home. I was riding the bow wave of the storm as it pushed south. I even pulled out my camera finally. :lol3

Amazing shots Oly!! Huge kudos there! :clap

The first and last ones had me twisting my mouse throttle the most. I always wonder how y'all find these amazing dirt roads to ride. I guess I just have to keep reading the forums and taking notes.

Thanks for sharing some of the fun and excitement with those of us who couldn't make it.

    I missed an awesome thing!

And OLY, kudos to you for this line - it's the last and most fresh one on this ol' brain of mine ... (I DO enjoy reading everyone's posts and they've all had a huge impact on me!)

"I finally made the decision the people were worth the inconvenience ..."

If only everyone adopted that attitude we'd all be in a much better place!

I think I now know what this group's all about!

    Thanks for that!

    Someday ...

    :clap

Everything looked buttoned up so I assumed you were still out riding.

I stopped by to square up my camp fees since the ranger never showed up.

Who gave me away your neighbor?

    Shit, good luck.

Knowing you Gary, you'd need a good 30 seconds to even load any of that old cap and ball crap you have.

Yes. Let's all do this ride again. The park is great. Showers and flushers. Fantastic!

Pizza and subway just down the road. Supertastic!

It was nice meeting some familiar faces, some for the first time too.

    Thanks,Gilla.
