Wonderful couple, period.
We left Las Vegas this afternoon as soon as my Conference was done.
We headed straight to Zion NP and had a wonderful meal there.
Waiting to enter the Tunnel going back towards St.George
So several years ago Kendra and I were in Zion on the BMW's, at a place with walls like your last photo above. I was leading, going pretty slow - when - a baby mountain sheep comes down the face of the cliff, half falling and half in control. Lands about 15 feet in front of me. I grab the brakes, thinking they'd throw my ass in jail for 20-years for hitting a baby sheep. Thank God I missed the sheep or it missed me!
That is one pretty area to ride through.
Hello @simbaboy and @Vikingtazz ! and @everyone:) I miss you guys ! It's been a very difficult year for me, I've had a work accident last november and medical imaging revealed cervical disc herniation (3)and dorsal disk herniation (3) . I'm still not working , a gradual return is ongoing but very difficult...
I sold all the bikes except the NX250, I keep it for a retirement project... I tried hard to ride but only the weight of my helmet is enough to hurt me...Even today I do not plan to ride in a near future.
After watching every episode and every season of ''The Young and Restless'' I decided to buy an old but very clean 11' BMW series 1 (128i) with few km on it so I can put a smile on my face and it works ! I really like it It is a summer car only and I'm storing it at the end of october.
Don't know went or even if I will be back on 2wheels but I imagine next year of something like that. Probably no more off road riding but kind of a ''sunday morning ride'' bike ?
I sincerely hope to see you again soon guys!
Awesome car Martin!
Man, I'm sorry to hear about your work accident. Hope you can heal enough to ride again, even if it takes a couple of years.
I don't remember the NX250 project, was that a recent purchase?
My winter project started with an upgrade ealier this week.
DW makes some nice shit.
Guitarists find drummers to be inferior musicians.
Sorry for your neck injury.
But I know you and you will be back to riding.
Remember, you still owe me a beer in ?Tudisaac.
Agreed with Kirk.
Nice car but super sorry about your injury
It will heal up.
I sent a text message, Marten.
Think I’ll just leave this here…
Exactly! @Vikingtazz is an amateur guitarist. He once tried to give me lessons on acoustic guitar 'Besame Mucho'. After an attempted 1/2 hr lesson he said the same thing that Brett @swedstal 'I have been everywhere man' said: "no dishonor in being a Drummer".
A Ski Instructor said to me in 1981 "Imu not everyone is meant to be a Skier. Go back to the Lodge, get a refund and get a hot chocolate"
We drove through Moab yesterday.
We drove from St.George to Zion NP (again) to Page to Moab and spent the night in Rifle, Colorado.
Tonight we are in Omaha, NE and Inshallah home tomorrow.
As we drove through Moab we took these pics of the La Sals:
Did your scooter get the upgrade? If so, how could you not take it for a test drive?
It did but still at the Mechanic's in Michigan.
I will pick it up on Monday.
The KTM got a new 3 gal Acerbis tank this weekend, and a new gold x-ring chain with a kool-aid orange rear sprocket. Bling! It should have a 150 mi+ fuel range now without carrying extra fuel.
When I was getting it out to ride last weekend I noticed the rear wheel was moving around. I checked the axle nut and could turn it with my fingers! Needless to say the aluminum rear sprocket didn't fare well and was worn pretty bad and the chain has needed replaced for a while.
Also got a new rear tire, and a fuel injection tuner is on the way. While I had it apart putting the tank on, which requires relocating or removing the smog canister, I took all the smog crap off in preparation for the tuner. "All I need now" is a new slip on exhaust to complete the upgrade. Unfortunately they are out of stock everywhere, so it will have to wait.
You can play guitar your whole life and nobody ever calls you a guitarist.
Pick up a drumstick and suddenly you're a failed musician.
This is a tough crowd.
I've been playing for 3 years and I don't even call myself a guitarist.
Hopefully this finds you home & safe!
Sorry I couldn't meet up with you and Karima, but I've been on 'Nico' watch. Of course he is now 4 days late, due last Thurs.
A drive through Moab, eek. That could not have been easy!
Got back home last night.
The Sienna needs a wheel alignment as it seemed to be pulling a bit to the Right. But I got incredible easy 25-27 MPG without a roof carrier and no trailer.
Now back to work gathering $$ for next year's fuel for the scoots.
You Grandpa X2 yet?
