Heading to AK, how far into Canada will I be able to pick up sirius sat. signal? I'm thinking it may not be worth taking. Thanks, Brian
Becoyote, you could always recieve the signal up here, it just wasn't officially available to Canadians until recently, due to our antiquated equivalent of the FCC. That may be why you thought it couldn't get a signal??
Used my XM all the way up to Jasper/Banff and Hyder AK this summer. I was told by a Canadian who has Sirius that he has none of the dropped signal syndrome I had once in a while. I gues that Sirius's 3 satelites give better coverage than XM's 2 sat's. The XM was very usefull so I am sure Sirius will be too.
Both XM and Sirius are now legally avaliable to Canadian residents. Sirius is partnered with the CBC so you can be sure that the coverage will be widespread. The Sirius satellites are higher on the horizon than the current XM birds, so they do cover farther to the North.
All I need to do now is figure out how to attach the antenna to my Igloo. Whats next, houses made of wood?:eek1
