5 more work days.
I just got home from work yesterday
Does that mean you're coming up Rich?
I think it does... the room is tilting toward the door for going and I'm not even drinking.
Get on your bike! Aaron just bailed....
I don't know Aaron other than in passing, but he's popular and will be missed.
Got a car to sell and a new one to buy for the missus and a couple other things to sort, but yeah it's all doable by Monday or so!
For the ferry, was thinking of just trying standby, but odds would be better to do that on Thursday then Friday. Could go either way, Port Aux Basques is half Argentia cost, but it may just be what ever they have left. Back on the cam, gotta get stuff done. Oh, ordered up a rotopax and mount for taking the long way home.
Edit: Large or Medium T-shirt if you have any left.
If you get on the Argentia ferry leaving the 22nd, landing the 23rd you will be with VTStromer and Jerry from. The MOA site. At least me and maybe one or two others are planning to meet the boat in the morning to run everyone back up to the house.
Plus it’s someone’s birthday same day so there might be some celebration.
Take the PAB ferry or do the TLH home then you only ride across the island once.
Have a look at the Giant Loop gas bags too.
That'd be great and I'd really like to make the 22nd crossing, but I'm not going to be to Sydney until Thursday at the earliest. Plan to arrive your place on Friday sometime if all goes well. Also, by "taking the long way home" I meant heading up into Labrador and around for the return. I checked out the GL bags and similar and like the roll up convenience, but they're too pricey for me. Roto set up will be here Saturday and will provide some insurance for the PHS to Goose Bay or Cartwright to Goosebay legs plus other explorations up there.
WE are packed, It wasn't easy, we tossed the kitchen in favor of a Vermont care package. Hopefully they all make it.
We are on the 23rd Ferry for Argentia, 5:30pm.
One more day of work.
Anyone sailing on the 23rd with a two berth they want to split? No biggie if not as they still have 4 berths available, but leaves more $ for gas and such.
Are you leaving the 23rd or landing the 23rd? I'm pretty sure you're landing the 23rd at 10:00, correct me if I'm wrong. Waiting to hear from Jerry if he booked a berth.
I’m looking at depart 17:30 on 23rd arrive next day 24th.
As a past participant of the most excellent 2012 Soiree and a fellow that just finished a trip through Vermont to the Adirondacks (and am planning another) I am looking forward to this year's event and meeting new visitors and riders. Have a safe trip here!
Thanks and likewise TRoberts!
Okay got this sorted and corrected. No sailing on Thursday, my goof from looking at PAB option. Just booked for Friday 24th arriving Saturday morning with 4 person berth if someone needs space.
Hopefully I can stay in touch on the trip over and possibly rendezvous with Saturday’s group ride on the way up from ferry, otherwise I'll just go to your place. I'll be on the FJ-09 so up to mild gravel is fine, otherwise I'll detour and reconnect as needed. Can you PM your addy, thanks.
I'm out. Came back from Scotland to an inbox full of future money and an outbox devoid of time off.
One of these days (months, years, whatever), I'll make it up there.
Have a time for me YFFs. (Still willing to send some money your way, Skibum, just shoot me a convo with your paypal)
Hey Rich, we know you land at 10:00 so we'll see what we can do to catch up with you.
Tumu, one of these days we'll see you.
I go back to work on the 4th or 5th.
Great to see you all, it was a fun weekend and Sarah loved having you come by and give her the opportunity to feed you. Safe travels to all of you who are still on the road, fell free to come back and visit any time.
