I downloaded my photos and hell I never took many. I must have been too busy riding and drinking.

This is a bit of video we shot in the section of railbed after the Argentia to Whitbourne part. I'd hate to see what it would have been like with the trail as wet as it was last Thursday. I'm guessing more than one person would have been cursing me if we'd tried it. The water seemed pretty never ending...

The closing cermonies, good times on the island

Good fireworks show produced by RegFoo2 (Ron from NJ) who put them off down on the beach Sunday night:

Hey John, nice shots of the closing ceremonies. How did you make out getting to that boat?

you can spemd an awful lot of time offroad on the railbed as this sign attests
    [IMG]

there are also signs of the end of the railway in NL in various towns around the province. This tells you what kind of snow there is to run into in this province.

we rolled in to find Ron and Greg parked and busy cutting sidestand pads that I'd spaced on, and happy for the warm weather
    [IMG]

Those of us who ran offroad were busy dumping the water out of our boots
    [IMG]

Tent city started to build as folks set up camp
    [IMG]

Then we settled into some well deserved beer drinking in the shed and ITSteve did a fine job of grilling up a few wieners and snarlers to get us through the night.

    The games continued.....

Throttlemeister had left us about 5 km into the railbed ride and took off on his own to see some scenery, it was about 11:30 when we heard his bike and he finally rolled in to join in emptying the kegs
    [IMG]

Malcolm rode this 350 Four up from Boston and arrived the same day we did the pre run. It was a funny coincidence the Sean saw him on the side of the road on his way to meet us and stopped to help him out by siphoning gas from his tank. It got better as Malcolm was headed to the next town beside New Melbourne and stopped in that night looking for a guy on a BMW. Sean was lost on the railbed with a dead battery and Malcolm made it to the shed. Anyway...he stopped in at the Soiree for a beer and some socializing.

the night progressed and the comedy increased as Throttlemeister tried out some new riding gear
    [IMG]

Day one drew to a close around 4am when gregster, throttlemeister and I shut 'er down.

I'd have a lot of black spots in my teeth from all the bugs I ate, I guess there is something said about riding at a slower pace.

I ended up in Deer Lake and drinking at the Driftwood Inn looking for places to camp and scouting the Labrador maps.

Did you ride down any of the new construction on the Happy Valley/GB linking to the Cartwright road?

I'm thinking I have a little extra time maybe...

Thinking of doing the Western Brook Pond boat tour tomorrow morning in Gros Morne NP.

[IMG]dougger came back out with his DRZ400 for some riding
    [IMG]
and of course the pig-Bruce Day of Downhome catering pulled in with the trailer and pig already cooking for 5 hours
    [IMG]
and everyone was getting out riding whether it was a guided offroad run or racking up the miles on the coastal routes
cage and k75s making a pass by the house
    [IMG]
evening settled into the usual routine in the shed
    where's the beach?
Bruce got set up and the feed was on. There's still a lot of pig in my fridge, but I don't think anyone went hungry this day

Outsideset deserves a huge shout out for offering up his place for internet and then showers after we ran the well dry here Friday evening. He was also the main tourguide for the offroad run on Friday. Thank you very much for all of your help and generosity, I couldn't have done it without you;)

ITsteve had some awards to give out so het got everyone's attention

Malcolm stopped in again on his last night before heading to the boat, RTR made its mark and he's off to spread the gospel
    [IMG]

the boys gave 'er again until 4am again and so closed Friday night, I'm a slow learner so I went to bed shortly after my girl

Sounds like fun, I've had a few pops there myself. I didn't have any extra time to check that new road out, a few guys have posted about it in the Trans Lab thread though. Have fun in Western Brook.:wave
