Thanks Roy! Crossed today at Puente Colombia with @seezer. Miss Banjercito handed me a PNS camera and instructed me to take a side view pic and placa pic of seezer’s bike. First time for that one. Stopped for the night in Sabinas Hidalgo. Indios and dinner at Los Jacales.
I never seem to be home long enough to get it updated. Been keeping FB fairly current, however. Will be taking a brief break from travel soon and intend to get it updated then. Here’s a pic of today’s sunset in Mazatlan to tide you over. (see what I did there?)
So what do you do when staying in a budget hotel in Mexico City with a VIPS across the street? You walk around the corner to eat bistek con nopal at Antojitos Gaby.
At BMW Momentum Satélite as they get RW66’s new ride ready to roll. Then it’s north to ZAC with his step-son Zohar making us three. Man, it’s great to be on a bike in Mexico in November!
For much of this year the US State Dept has been issuing regular advisories to the public of the joint agreement with Mexico to close the border to all non-essential travel. While the US has been respecting the agreement the Mexican govt has not in favor of maintaining at least some influx of dollars into the economy. Not all of Mexico is happy about this as reflected in the linked news story. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/co...on-on-nonessential-travel-at-northern-border/ Here’s the US State Dept advisory: “The United States and Mexico entered a joint initiative March 21 restricting non-essential travel along the U.S.-Mexico land border to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Non-essential travel includes tourism and recreational travel. These restrictions apply to travel in both directions across the border. On October 19, the U.S. and Mexican governments extended the land border travel restrictions until November 21. Mexican border and local authorities are conducting enforcement actions to discourage non-essential travel in some areas. Please see the DHS website or embassy fact sheet for more information.”
