Oh man! That was you I followed several miles before pulling in to Byrds last year! I kept trying to determine what was odd about your bike and then got a good gander of it at the check-in trailer. Man did seeing that make me want to throw up a bit!

All in a day's ride, dg, all in a day's ride. :shog

If it hadn't been for those two pint bottles of water in the tank panniers it would have been a different story. Burning, melting rubbery plastic ain't easy to put out. I'll probably ride the 625 this year so as to have a chance of setting both sides afire at once! :lol3

So I'm a slap noob. Decided to bring the Husky FE501 instead of the super ten. Wondering what type of rear tire would be good for this area. Rocky, sandy, muddy, etc? I've never had the pleasure of riding out that way and was curious on setup. I run a golden tire 216aa front but was thinking a kenda 270 5.10 might be a good rear for this event.

My wife (showmegirl) and I are in. looking forward to the ride, beer and friends.
One last question getting ready to buy a Garmin Montana 600 or 650 which is best. or is there a GPS better then one of these, for about the same price.

All of the above + roots and leaf litter. It traditionally is damp in the area this time of year.

Kenda 270 is a little timid for singletrack, but if you're dual-sporting, that should be fine.

Shooting for being in, and hopefully drag my son along. We shall see when it gets a little closer if I can pull it off.

Probably best discussed in the massive Montana thread, get the 600. I have the 650 and never use the camera. It's a great gps and the rugged mount makes it easy to supply power. The CNNA map is all you'll need.

Just to keep the thread on track, count me in!

In - Paid - And healing. This slapped...er slipped up on me. Maybe we won't have to worry about the Mulberry flooding us out this year.

But after enough moonshine and polish dancing....who worries? :freaky:jjen

    Shit :huh:huh:huh:huh:huh:huh:huh:huh

Who's gonna feed me all weekend :deal

    I'll bring my own stove I guess--but I can't cook nothin'

Without nobody there to keep the rowdy's in camp "run-a-mucka" in check-------------it could get out of hand. Then here's comes the campground Nazi.

Me I don't do weddings, or funerals--------and everybody that knows me knows that--------don't ask me cause I ain't coming. I ain't even going to my own funeral----I'll be riding and busy that day.

    Will miss you Charlie.
