Shamelessly poached from Nippy Norman over on UKGSer, this is apparently the rumoured 1200GS Lite...

Press release (not seen it myself) apparently says:

    15,000 Euro.
    100PS.
    Conventional upside down forks.
    Single headlight.
    Lighter, simpler frame.
    Air shock at rear.
    No screen.
For 'hard enduro' fans (whoever they are?)
    Available April

Looks MUCH more appealing to me than the current GS12. I wonder if it has conventional brakes or Evo II's. I also don't understand why the higher cost. Take the GS12, remove the Telelever, remove the silly brakes and you start to have a decent bike - sort of like a 950, Tiger or Strom.

I think this bike may be a stone winner, but for the price.

Can't find any trace of the press release or the article in MCN that the pic is meant to be from. The rear side fairings look distinctly photoshopped when the pic's blown a bit...

    Here's another one.

What a coincidence that the backgrounds in these two pictures might be different, the bike itself is exactly the same. Also discussed in this thread btw. The German magazine this picture comes from even says that this is what the new GS HP might/could look like. Not that it most definately will....

I wish I could be a (German speaking) fly on the wall at BMW HQ to learn why they brought out the GS12 instead of this winner.

If this is true than this is the adventure model. BMW leaked that there would be 2 new R12GS varients. One would be a Supermoto type bike that is more street oriented and one would be a dirt version with knobbies.
If you look closer at the gas tank, you will see the black part (gas tank) exstends below the side pannels. That would mean it holds considerbly more gas than the current R12GS. Sorry to say but IMHO, If this is true, this is the adventure model. Right now I'm not crazy about it, but I am sure it will grow on me. :thumb

If BMW is going to come out with the GS-HP for enduro riding, why not make a Supermotard version for the folks who appreciate it's ability on the street. That looks like the next hot market for bikes. KTM is already going that route. Hell, even Suzuki is offering a version with their 400. We've all seen pictures of folks who've put smaller front wheels on their GS's.

Transform that 'beak' into something mean looking, stick a '180' on the back, maybe some sleek one-piece bodywork...OH YEAH BABY, I'M THERE!

    Time for a cold shower.

Evo in reference to the brakes only describes the rotors and calipers. If you are talking about linked power assisted brakes the you are describing integral abs.

I wondered what an F650 would look like with a boxer motor stuffed into it... now I know.
