When? Just wondering because I want to check out a 790 Adventure R but of course they didn't make many for 2019 and they have pretty much been gone for a while now. Any word?

    Hi there,
my first post I think? No sure if this is the place to introduce myself, but anyway, a new guy from Spain that just ordered a 790Adv R.
The shop says, no news about the new 2020 790 until the EICMA, so not sure what I have ordered.

And talking about that 890, I don´t think it will be an upgrade for the 790 Adv model, wouldn´t make sense to develope the Rally model with the 790 engine for 2020 if the the 790 will be upgrade to the 890. IMHO

My dealer here in the Pacific Northwest said he expected more 790s in their mid-November shipment. I didn't ask if they will be '19 or '20

Dealer in Atlanta, Georgia expects 2020 KTM 790s to come in mid to late November. He said all of the 2019 models in the US have sold.

yeah - they have at least one S. I believe they’ve had every R sold before it hit the floor. There was a waiting list last time I was in there.

I was about to say I was specifically inquiring about the R version when I was told all the 2019s had sold, there are, however, some online ads stating 2019 Rs are still in stock. Whether that is true would be more difficult to find out.

You can’t go by cycle trader. At least with certain models

I was calling all over the country using cycle trader as a jumping point for a R. IT WAS ALL LIES

This thread is what landed me one.

*not this thread but the other one

Many of those Cycle Trader ads are dealers taking deposits on 2020s. I've been told by two dealers that new bikes should be on the show floor by December.

So, do we have confirmation that the first batch of 2020s will be assembled/built in China? I haven't seen much news regarding the Chinese deal since around 2018.

Ditto, my dealer said he was expecting to have them late November, early December time-frame, but he said he wouldn't know 100 percent until they shipped.

My dealer said his regional rep told him that was a bad rumor. Bikes sold in the US next year will come from Europe. Those sold in Asia could potentially be manufactured in China he said.

Maybe it is wishful thinking, but that makes sense to me for some reason. I would imagine pure public outcry would keep the 790 in Europe for a little longer.

I've heard the same that only small 390 and products that are sold to Asia would be manufactured in India / China. And all bikes sold in Europe (and most likely US) would be still made.. öh.. assembled in Austria. I surely hope so since it's just impossible to understand the quality we expect in such environment.

Came across this 2-part Cycle News interview with KTM President Stefan Pierer over in the American Flat Track discussion as they are looking at fielding a 790-based entry (Husky) in '21. He also discussed many other aspects of KTM/Husky/GasGas, including what is built where...
