The bike shop has a fleet of hire bikes, so it'd be feasible to do a motorbike / mountain bike trip. Trouble is, they have the new specialised ebikes for sale so you'd have to work out how to transport one back on the motorbike.

Gotta love having a bike shop across the road from the caravan park!

This morning daughter 1 sliced her tyre on a rock ,plus my rear wheel bearings packed in. Wander across the road, drop both wheels off, then go out for a leasurely lunch - all fixed by the time we get back so we get in another afternoon loop. I'm STUFFED now, I think tomorrow will be a bike free day!

    Speaking of which

Thank god for the Rock Shox, do you have any idea how big the curbs are they make you ride over to get from the city to port melb to st kilda. Time to wear off the winter layer

Had a massive stack a few weeks ago
Clipped a tree going fast and got catapulted into a rocky ditch ,
Landed on my hands, knees and side ..
Never hurt myself in so many areas on the body before and somehow escaped anything major like breaks or ligament damage .

My troy lee d30 knee pads saved me.
Both knees got hanmered and i could not get my shoes on myself all last week , and altough i was hurting a lot i didnt miss any work .

I've been riding up Black Mt / the arboretum at lunchtimes

Amazed by how quick a lot of other cyclists go back down the hill

Helmet, but that's it for protection

One bloke showed me his tracker app - at one point, doing 89kph

Come off at that speed in shorts and a flimsy shirt and it's not going to be pretty

IIRC my top speed on the bicycle is 78 km/h ... down hill, tail wind ... and brakes on.

The brakes came on every time there was the chance of a cross wind. Arthur's Pass NZ.
